It OBVIOUSLY sounds better, because AI is imitating the peak of human musicians. It is technology created to mimic the best of the best, or at least music that is widely accepted as "good". And I agree, it is working well.
But that is not what music is about.
Music can only be created from the soul. When music is created it is injected with all these years of practice, all the hardships and human experiences of the musician. "Soul" shows up in how pianists touch the keys and what microphone they chose. It shows up in the room they're recording in. "Soul" is in inaudible part of music. And before you make fun of this: no, this isn't philosophical. It's tangible.
"Soul" is the dialogue around the music you have with other people or the artist themself. When you learn that a piece was recorded at 3am while the rest of the world was sleeping. "Soul" is what you can find in interviews, by researching the life of the musician, in reading their biography – when you find out that music has been a part of their life since their childhood. Maybe they lost someone when they wrote the music. "Soul" is in the context around the music, the political turmoils, the late night depression, the very moment the music was created in. "Soul" is simply knowing that someone practiced hard and crafted every single aspect of the music with intent.
AI sounds better? Sure.
But without intent, without history, without context it's no more than pretty sound and if that is the kind of "music" you want to listen to, go ahead. In the meantime, I will pick up meaningful dialogue with the wonderful people that listen to mine. I will tell them all about what moved me, inspired me. I will tell them how I climbed up a piano when I was just 4 years old, begging my parents to buy me one. I will tell them how I almost quit music before I created this.
I feel so sorry for you if you can't understand what music truly is.
The music will be profoundly, painfully human - a direct protest against AI music and the superficiality it stands for.

I will be exploring the complexity of human emotions - something that AI is trying to rob from us.
For this made up language I wrote lyrics in German, re-write that into an abstract form of the German language and had a Japanese vocal synth sing it which finalized the language's intonation. So these lyrics have actual meaning and follow a grammaticallic structure and cohesive vocabulary since it's just abstract German. German speaking people might even understand a word or sentence here and there.
I'm really excited to explore this music more, and I hope you'll like it once I release it to the world.
'Summer's Fate' is a whimsical piece celebrating summer and all the memories you made at the final days of the season. It's a fusion of the driving piano melodies I'm known for as BigRicePiano with the lofi / Chillhop elements I created the alias for.

I'm not having any of that.
I want to cultivate a community that is fine with sitting still for a minute to appreciate human made piano music. I make music to help people focus or to distract them from something distracting.
And if not going viral is the price to pay for that, then I'll gladly pay it.
I owe so, so much to artists and creators for having my music join their hard work and being shared with the world. Instead of sueing you, maybe saying "thank you from the bottom of my heart" would be a bit more appropriate. Is it just me? 🤷🏻
