Spending a day in Enkhuizen honestly feels like stepping into a postcard.

From charming canals and historic streets to museums you’d never expect to find in such a small city, this place completely surprised me. And the best part?
Most tourists skip it.

One thing I loved most about Enkhuizen was how much history is packed into this little town.
⠀
You can visit the only 17th-century library still in its original location in The Netherlands, explore an old city prison, see the world’s biggest collection of ships in bottles, or wander through the incredible Zuiderzeemuseum and discover what Dutch life used to look like centuries ago. 🐚

And of course… you can’t leave without doing a canal tour 🎣 Seeing Enkhuizen from the water gives the city a completely different vibe.

The centre is also full of cute local shops, perfect for finding unique souvenirs and little Dutch treasures you won’t find elsewhere.

If you stay until the evening, head to the old sea wall at Wierdijk for sunset. Watching the sun go down over the IJsselmeer was honestly one of the highlights of my trip. 🍶

Only about an hour by train from Amsterdam, this charming canal-filled town is famous for its iconic blue-and-white Delft Blue pottery, its connection to painter Johannes Vermeer, and its important role in Dutch history.

Walking around Delft honestly feels like stepping into a painting. 🛵
Cute canals, historic churches, tiny cafés and the sweetest little shops everywhere.

Since I had already visited Delft, this time I decided to take it slow and wander around the city, enjoying the sunny weather.

I also explored the Delft Antique Market (which definitely deserves its own post because I found SO many beautiful things!). ✨

One thing that really surprised me was how many cute boutiques and cafés Delft has.
If you know me, you already know I can’t resist a little shopping moment.
Between the cosy streets, canal views and relaxed atmosphere, it’s such a lovely city for a day trip.

Maybe I’m just getting older but I’ve been loving walking around the little villages near my house, watching the animals (I’m genuinely obsessed with cows lately!) and can we talk about how cute the baby lambs are?!

There’s something so peaceful about the Dutch countryside.
The quiet, the nature, the beautiful houses, the canals, the green fields.
It honestly feels like such a different world compared to the city. 🌞

Seeing Amsterdam from the water feels so different: calmer, more intimate, and honestly so special.

The weather was perfect, and cruising with Friendship Amsterdam made it even better, a luxury, stylish open boat, sunshine on our faces, and cocktails in hand!🍸

We went for the Cocktail Cruise, which was honestly the best choice.
⠀
We passed some of the city’s most iconic spots like the Old Church, the Amstel River, and the Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge), while learning fun little stories and hidden details from our captain and hostess along the way.

Even after living here, I still discovered things I didn’t know, which made it even more special 🫶🏼

Whether you’re visiting or already call Amsterdam home, I’d always recommend doing a canal tour.

It gives you a whole new perspective on the city and its history, the kind you don’t notice walking around.

Such a fun idea for a date or a day out with friends ✨ and you can choose between a Booze Cruise, Canal Cruise, or Cocktail Cruise depending on your vibe.

This hidden gem in Clingendael Park opens only twice a year and is completely free.

You’ve got from April 23 to June 7 to wander through blooming pinks and purples, peaceful paths, little bridges, and the dreamiest Japanese details.🌸

Open daily 10:00–20:00, it’s the perfect excuse for a slow day in the sun.
Think: quiet walks, cute photo spots, and a little “main character” moment surrounded by nature.

Fun fact: this garden dates back to around 1910 and was created by Lady Daisy, who brought back plants and elements from Japan herself.
It’s now even a national monument (!!)

Because it’s super delicate, it only opens in spring and autumn and each season looks completely different.
So yes… You will want to come back! 🎏

And don’t rush off after, and the rest of the park is perfect for a picnic, a walk, or just doing nothing for a while.

This little museum is such a gem: it recreates the charm of an old-fashioned grocery shop, the kind where you’d get your bread and sweets wrapped in paper cone bags, the cash register still rang with every purchase, and life moved at a slower, cozier pace. 🍞🧺

Housed in a 17th-century building, it’s more than just a museum – it’s a step back in time.
You can wander through the shop, sip coffee or tea with a slice of orange cake in the old living rooms, and even explore a 400-year-old wine cellar. 🕰️☕🍰
