Five years later, I've learned a few things. We've since switched to an air source heat pump.
Our annual heating dropped from €5,000 to circa €1,200 (I'll update you when we've had the system for an entire year). And I've learned where the money actually goes when you live in rural France, what catches you off guard and what makes every centime worth it.

Second year in a row doing Fêtes des Coquilles Saint-Jacques and honestly, so much fun.
We stayed (again) at Grand Pigalle Experimental and I love it more every time. Warm, stylish, genuinely lovely staff, and SUCH a good location. Right by Montmartre.
Dinner at Frenchie Pigalle was fabulous. Properly delicious food, relaxed vibe, and the kind of place that makes you want to linger.
Cocktails at Sister Midnight were next-level. Tiny, buzzy, chaotic in the best way. Incredible drinks, packed to the rafters, and absolutely going back for the DJ and drag show next time.
We wandered beautiful shops like The Socialite Family (dangerous territory) and meandered through Le Marais and Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, where we caught their immersive Song Bong exhibition. V. cool.
Brunch at Benedict was the grand finale. Shakshuka with merguez sausages. Yum!!
