When the ADHD meds wear off after school, I usually try to take him to the skate park or we go for a bike ride or we do something but today I was just super tired and then all of a sudden I could hear the leaf blower and low and behold Wynter was riding it down the street on his scooter. I feel like this is my fault for letting him watch YouTube where he discovers new and unusual ways to entertain yourself as a little boy.
I love you to bits little one but you sure are wild and crazy.

…and honestly, I’m grateful every day for free will 😅
I grew up in the country on a property surrounded by animals — dogs, cats, guinea fowl, cows, pigs, even donkeys… yes, donkeys 😂
But my absolute favourites were always the chickens.
Not just any chickens though — I’ve always loved the tiny, miniature bantam breeds.
In my eyes, they’re one of the best pets for kids and families… and you’d be surprised how easy they are to keep, even in a suburban backyard (with one rule: no roosters 🫠).
So when I say this was an ADHD decision… I mean it.
Because when you buy chicks this young, you actually don’t know if you’re getting hens or roosters.
Which means… in six weeks, if they all turn out to be roosters — they’ll have to go back 😅
A risk? Yes.
One I was willing to take? Also yes.
But already, watching my oldest raise these little chicks by hand… it’s something I know will stay with him forever.
We might be in a bit of a transitional season, we might even be moving soon…
but I don’t regret this for a second.
Because years from now, I know he’ll look back on this and remember how special it felt.
And I’m so grateful I get to give him that 🐥🤍 PS these are miniature phantom silkies and I hope they are hens 😅

I just wanted to go and have a look and now we are proud chicken parents. I grew up raising chicks from scratch from incubators so don’t worry everybody, I kind of know what I’m doing.
So excited to share this experience with my children 🥹✨🤍🐣🐥 #silkiechickens make wonderful pets and I can’t wait to share more videos soon on this journey.
