(8, 9) One staple and one special from a Japanese spot we frequent,. First, the grilled mackerel; we almost always order this. Next, a special I hadn’t seen before: chicken and plum tempura sushi roll.
(10) Smash burger popup by at (Monday Night Football by and )
(11, 12) Gave the Omakase a try at. Mini ikura don and my favorite flight from the omakase.
(13) Various pastries from one of our go-tos,. In focus is the guava custard danish.
(14, 15) Dinner with friends at. People are obviously enthralled by the Uni rice (first), but my favorite dish was the glazed baby back ribs with mozzarella.
(16, 17) Various pastries from a Mexican bakery in Pilsen, Panaderia Nuevo León. The turtle concha is obviously cute as hell.
(18, 19) Tacos at the, “Yes! Yes! yes!” spot itself,. These might be $6/pop but the homemade tortillas always hit, the meat is always succulent and delicious, and the vibes always on point.

in Wicker Park is doing Mediterranean food that actually makes you rethink what’s possible - from the beautifully unhinged bread & butter situation to literally blowtorching our dessert tableside (a core memory). Short rib orzo, the whole branzino, that ceviche, so much joy.
PS - that host Shakeup Wednesdays, an LGBTQIA+ guest bartender series in the back bar. Next one is THIS Wednesday 10/23. Pull up.
