Opened in 1963, Kino International was the most prestigious premiere cinema in the former East Germany. On the historic night of 9 November 1989, while the Berlin Wall was falling, the cinema became part of Berlin’s modern history.
Today the building is protected as a historical monument and remains one of the most beautiful examples of modernist architecture on Karl-Marx-Allee.
