From the beginning, and I planned to share our nearly 10+ year travel and photography with a small group of attendees from novice and pros alike. This workshop had a great mixture of both.
When asked what the they wanted to gain from the workshop the answers ranged from focusing in the dark, to learning how to plan their shot, to being able to do easy composites for their end result. By the end, we did all that and a lot more and everyone went home with the knowledge of how to create stunning night sky images and photos deserving of being framed and hung proudly on their walls.

While photographing everything Iād often stop and look through the history of the place through pictures on the wall. Amazing to see the eras theyāve gone through and where they are now. This place is an institution not many BBQ folks venture to, but definitely should.
I wonāt tell you how many boxes of shells it takes me to limit out, but we get there in the end. And getting to see the bird dogs do their thing is always awesome.

First was the world of weddings where I spent almost 14 years capturing memories for hundreds of couples, a lot of whom Iām still friends with to this day.
One of the very first weddings I did in early 2009 was for a good friend who suggested him and I get into the food world together and shoot photos at chefs in their houses. When he unexpectedly passed away I started the Shoot My Chef project in his honor and slowly got into the food scene in and around Houston.
After a visit to with in late 2014 we decided to explore Texas BBQ more as the popularity was rising. Over the next few years we made multiple trips to BBQ joints all around the state and slowly became friends with Pitmasters and staff. As my relationships in the BBQ world grew, so did my love for taking photos everywhere we went, which led to another project,. Over time this transitioned into working with the folks all around BBQ, including.
Earlier this year YETI reached out and asked for some of my photos to be included in an upcoming book they were dedicating to the BBQ community. To say itās an honor to be a part of such a great project is an understatement. And to be immortalized in a book by one of the greatest companies in the BBQ community is a truly a dream come true.
Thank you to everyone in this great community who has allowed me in their space to take pictures of them and their food. It has truly changed my life and I will forever be grateful for it.
