Meet Louise Heard, the owner and “custodian” of Benjamin Pollock’s Toy Shop, a treasure that dates back to the 1880s. Today, it is the only toy shop left in central London dedicated to toys made of paper, fabric, and wood.
In Victorian London, Covent Garden was a true theatre district. Artists painted scenery, craftsmen built props, and paper theatres brought the magic of the stage into people’s homes, mirroring the real theatres nearby.
