But I wanted to discover the world (both within me and outside of me) more than I wanted to wait. I didn’t want to wait for anyone’s: company, permission, encouragement, or validation to do the things I wanted to do.
Today I know two things:
1) loneliness, once you accept it as part of life, is a fleeting emotion. It comes, it goes, like every other one. It’s not something to ‘fix’.
2) The fear however? it almost never goes away, you just have to do it scared again and over again. And again.
Life is short but the days are long. You don’t want to spend them wondering what if, or waiting on someone else to be ready. If God has put something on your heart, it’s there for a reason no matter how big or small it may seem.
Everyone is on their own timeline, and that’s okay. Just don’t delay yours waiting for somebody to align with it. The best thing you can do is run your own race:)

With every promise I make to myself, execution is more likely to happen and remain sustainable when there is some sort of system in place. I call this system “things I need to do know when I know I’m about to crash out”. Like any good system it had to be tried and tested through observation, documentation, assessment etc (I am only half joking). And this is what I’ve come up with and it works for me. I am sharing this so that you can be encouraged to find out what your small things or your system is.
Of course, feel free to pick whatever you want from mine (though I’m not sure handstand will work for many people, it’s still a 10/10 recommend from me).

I love that in each country I get to immerse myself and learn about what wellness, in both its most mundane and elevated forms, can look like. Culture plays such a big role in how I have come to see and live health, movement, nutrition, wellness and life as a whole.
What particularly struck me jn Nairobi/Kenya is the centrality that outdoor spaces play in everyday wellness. The city is so green and vast, it’s almost like one big adult playground. As someone who loves being outside I can’t tell you how happy I was being able to run, walk, hike, bike and just move my body 24/7 with this much greenery as a background!
Of course the reality would be different for everyone and I’m conscious that not everyone will experience it the same way.
Wellness isn’t a monolith and that’s what I love so much about it 🤎

We drove 2 hours from Nairobi on a whim for a bike safari through Hell’s Gate National Park in Naivasha (the name is terrifying lol).
18km uphill on a bike, a 12km hike in between and surrounded by the most beautiful wildlife I’ve ever seen.
Everything about this felt surreal.
Moments like this remind me that fitness, for me, was never only about chasing PRs. It’s about building a body and a life that allow me to have experiences like this. The kind of adventures that give all the training its meaning.
Because yes, I train for health. And for marathons.
But also so I can spend 6+ hours moving through the Kenyan wild and actually enjoy every second of it.
There’s something that happens to you when you’re deep in nature like that.
My friend Runako said it perfectly: it is the greatest reminder of God’s presence. Of how intentional, how generous, how loving Our Creator must be to have made all of this for us.
You don’t come back the same.
So if you’ve been searching for a reason to move your body: maybe it’s not about discipline or routine. Maybe it’s preparing for the kind of adventure that changes you. For moments that bring you closer to Him in ways you didn’t expect.
That’s what health and movement have always meant to me anyway.
A life I can actually live fully, the way God intended. 🥹

I’ve learned that purpose is simply how you serve others through gifts already within you—gifts sometimes so deeply buried or “obvious” that we dismiss them.
God created each of us intentionally with everything needed to navigate life and help others do the same. Our job? Nurture and steward what we’ve been given through actions.
