Monday and Tuesday is my weekend, but in order to get a head start on the week, planning deliveries it's often essential that I put some work in. Doing that yesterday and recording a podcast today is really helping me feel ready to roll properly this week. 2025 has honestly been the best year yet. The shop has gone from strength to strength, and thatās entirely down to you, our wonderfully loyal, supportive, and endlessly creative customers. I am so grateful for every visit, conversation, project, and shared love of textiles.
Hereās hoping (and confidently predicting) that 2026 will be just as good if not even better.
The shop will reopen on Saturday 10th January, returning to normal opening hours. Until then, thank you for being part of the journey and for making this year so special and successful. The always lovely will be in the shop for a few hours this afternoon to assist in the madness. The southside is bound to be full of joy and whimsy.
Any online orders placed from today may or may not reach you by Christmas but by all means if you need anything for your own festive crafting it should arrive soon after.
Even though we will be closed for a while over Christmas we will still be dispatching online orders sporadically.
As always, I popped into some of my favourite independent shops, all beautifully presented, thoughtful spaces and it reminded me just how special Bawn is.
Independent retail is incredibly varied, and many wonderful shops quite rightly aim to serve a broad range of people. What feels distinctive about Bawn is that it was created very intentionally as a place for textile creatives, somewhere that feels like itās for them, rather than simply a shop that happens to stock textile-related goods.
Itās also been especially lovely this year to notice more people arriving already familiar with Bawn, or being sent in by friends and family looking for gifts for the textile lovers in their lives. That growing sense of connection means so much.
Of course, there are many excellent textile shops, and some overlap in stock is inevitable. What continues to set Bawn apart is the care in the curation and the atmosphere, something that feels considered, welcoming, and rooted in community, not to mention the focus on sustainability and superb quality.
Back open from tomorrow for the last few days of 2025. UK online orders that need to arrive for Christmas should be placed by Friday at the latest. Orders placed after that may not arrive until after Christmas.
