Like Escher, he plays with repetition, metamorphosis, and the fragile boundary between perfection and imperfection. By deliberately allowing incompleteness, Batman questions whether perfection truly exists and whether it may be found only in divine creation.
His work is inspired by the Alhambra and resonates closely with Escher’s Contrast (Order and Chaos) (1950), in which a perfectly symmetrical spatial figure is surrounded by a jumble of everyday objects. İlk nesil öğrenci olarak okumak kolay değildi. Her şeyi kendi başına çözmek zorundaydım. Klişe gibi gelebilir ama beni ben yapan parçalardan biri de bu. 4 Ekim artık hayatımda daha da önemli bir gün. Ne yazık ki, 4 Ekim 1992’te Bijlmervliegramp adlı olay meydana geldi: İsrail kargo uçağı Bijlmer’deki honingraatflats’a çarptı. Birçok insan hayatını kaybetti ve babam o zamanlar orada yaşayan göçmenlerden biriydi. Bu felaketi Hollanda sınırlarının içinde yaşadığı için oturma izni verdi devlet. Aksi takdirde bir hafta sonra Türkiye’ye dönmek zorunda kalacaktı. Şimdi tam olarak 31 yıl sonra, 4 Ekim’de TU Delft’ten, mimarlık fakültesinden mezun oldum. Sadece mimar yolunda değil mültisipliner sanatçı olarak kendimi geliştirdiğim günler için kendimi çok şanslı hissediyorum. Hikayenin tamamı seneye hazırladığım Tompouce ve Baklava arasında sergisinde konusu olacak.

Afgelopen weekend mocht ik het ‘Met Vincent aan Tafel Diner’ hosten in het Van Gogh Museum. Een avond tussen de zelfportretten van Vincent Van Gogh om stil te staan bij de steun van particuliere donateurs, fondsen, stichtingen, corporate relaties en het Ministerie van OCW.
Emilie Gordenker en Jacobina Brinkman stonden stil bij hoe het met het met het Van Gogh Museum specifiek gaat en Tim Marlow gaf een korte lezing over hoe het met musea in het algemeen gaat.
Hierbij dank ik alle aanwezigen en collega’s voor deze inspirerende avond!
