La vendimia de Bizkaiko Txakolina se adelanta una semana respecto al calendario habitual debido a las condiciones climáticas favorables que han acelerado el proceso de maduración de la uva. Este mismo fin de semana se empezarán a recoger las variedades más tempranas, mientras que la próxima semana les llegará el turno a las variedades principales.

Los Pimientos de Gernika son una variedad de pimiento de la provincia de Vizcaya, resultado de la adaptación que ha experimentado la especie originaria de América a las condiciones climáticas de la zona. Su color es verde intenso y su forma alargada y puntiaguda. Presenta un pedúnculo largo y su tamaño oscila entre los 6 y 9 cm. Al paladar su carne resulta fina y suave, y no pica. Se consume preferiblemente frito, resultando ser un buen acompañante para diversos platos de productos de temporada.
La época idónea de consumo de los pimientos de Gernika es desde finales de abril a noviembre.
