According to the real estate sales data obtained from the institution, the 5th month of 2022 stepped forth with a 235,7% increase compared to the same month of the previous year.
During this in-question period, 5.962 property sales were made to foreign investors from all around the world. Based on this data, real estate investments made by foreigners in Turkey shared 4.9% of total property sales in May.
On the other hand, property selling to foreigners in the January-May period of 2022 reached 26.753 with a 70% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
The top 5 cities of Turkey, where the foreign real estate buyers purchased property most, became Istanbul, Antalya, Mersin, and Bursa in order of sales numbers.
While Istanbul was the most preferred city again in terms of real estate investment with 2.451 sales, Antalya with 1.885, Mersin with 264, Ankara with 249, and Yalova with 135 followed the metropolitan city in total.
When it came to the top 5 countries that made a property purchase in Turkey, Russia became the most prominent country one more time with 1.275 property purchases leaving behind the other countries in May. The 2nd country was Iran with 736 properties, the 3rd one was Iraq with 617, the 4th was Germany with 247, and the 5th was Ukraine with 241.
