Today is also my birthday, and I’ve been gifted a child this year for my 35th. It’s been difficult and emotional for me to share my pregnancy in better spirits, knowing the pain that the women in our country are going through right now and how women’s rights have been stripped away in many states.
This pregnancy was unplanned —which, in many cases are—and having the right to control my own body to keep or terminate should be my choice and no one else’s. It pains me to read about stories already happening to women across the country, knowing they don’t have access to protect their own lives in dangerous situations.
I’ve had several close friends whom suffered losses recently through miscarriage or genetic conditions resulting in abortion later in their pregnancies and cannot even fathom them losing their right to protect their lives and continue to carry on helplessly.
Sadly it’s happening today. In 2022. We need to support women now more than ever😢
