Now more than ever I feel it’s so important to share stories of immigration, to let people into my world, into my culture, into my heart. A lot of really good people helped make THIS life possible for me and I’ll never be able to repay that.
And if you invite me to speak at your kids’ school to share my story on a level that makes sense to them. On a level of pure connection and vulnerability and love and hope and culture. I will come. Part of healing my inner child is teaching young kids that it is okay to share your FULL self; your story, your culture, your joys, your hardships. I work on my phone and on social media…how wild of me to detox my kids. Well I partially detoxed myself and now have strict screen limits with my phone. I also made a list of tech free activities for our family and anytime I was going crazy I would look at that. I think screen detox is crucial and it benefits everyone; even if it is just for 7, 14 or 30 days; it will QUITE literarily reset your child’s brain ….the research says so and has proven it. I can tell you my kids are completely DIFFERENT children since detoxing screens.
This statistic BLEW MY MIND: Dr. Victoria Dunkley was treating patients in her practice who were coming in with symptoms of like ADHD.
And what she was realizing is that a lot of times interactive screens, electronic screens were inducing these symptoms in kids. And that by just doing a 30-day digital detox for a lot of the patients, it eliminated the symptoms entirely. They did not have an underlying condition.
