We are leaving Germany on July 2nd, and our first stop will be Kazakhstan (with a short layover in Istanbul) – because we wanted our adventure to start somewhere Special. I literally can’t put into words how excited we are for this journey. Of course, I’ll be sharing everything right here.
Looking back, I am incredibly thankful for my time in Hamburg. Over the years, I’ve grown so much personally and in terms of my photography, and I’ve met many amazing friends and fellow photographers. To honor this chapter, I’ve collected some of my favorite photos that I took here over the years. Each one holds a special memory—whether it was because of the epic conditions or the people I met during the photowalks.

Nach neun Jahren in Hamburg ist es Zeit für ein neues Kapitel. Deshalb haben meine Frau und ich unsere Jobs gekündigt, unsere Wohnung aufgegeben und sind bereit für Neues. Vielleicht sogar für immer…
Am 2. Juli verlassen wir Deutschland, und unser erster Stopp wird Kasachstan sein (mit einem kurzen Zwischenstopp in Istanbul) – weil wir wollten, dass unser Abenteuer an einem ganz besonderen Ort beginnt! Ich kann buchstäblich nicht in Worte fassen, wie aufgeregt wir sind und Natürlich werde ich alles hier mit euch teilen.
Wenn ich zurückblicke, bin ich unglaublich dankbar für die Zeit in Hamburg. Ich bin über die Jahre sowohl persönlich als auch in meiner Fotografie so sehr gewachsen und habe viele tolle Freunde und Fotografen kennengelernt. Um dieses Kapitel zu würdigen, habe ich einige meiner Lieblingsfotos zusammengestellt, die ich im Laufe der Jahre geschossen habe. Jedes einzelne verbinde ich mit einer besonderen Erinnerung – sei es wegen der perfekten Bedingungen oder wegen der Menschen, die ich bei den Fotowalks getroffen habe.

Manchmal lohnt es sich, den Blick zu senken. Die symmetrische Kuppel des Kapitols in einer einfachen Pfütze verändert die Wirkung dieses ikonischen Gebäudes komplett. Swiped durch den Rest der D.C.-Serie, inklusive dem Lincoln Memorial. Was haltet ihr von puddlegrams?
What makes this city a massive inspiration for urban design isn’t just the aesthetics, but the infrastructure: Copenhagen actually has more bicycles than cars, supported by over 400 km of dedicated, separated bike lanes.

Kopenhagen ist wie geschaffen für Zweiräder, und es ist zweifellos die beste Art, die wunderschöne Stadt zu erkunden. Vielen Dank an, die mir ihre Räder zur Verfügung gestellt haben – schaut unbedingt mal bei ihnen vorbei, wenn ihr eine Reise plant! (Unbezahlte Werbung).
Was diese Stadt zu einer enormen Inspiration für Stadtplanung macht, ist nicht nur die Ästhetik, sondern auch die Infrastruktur: In Kopenhagen gibt es mehr Fahrräder als Autos – und das alles auf über 400 Kilometern Radwegen.

Wenn man oben auf dem Tafelberg steht und zuseht, wie die Sonne hinter dem Horizont des Atlantiks versinkt, versteht man sofort, warum dieses 1.086 Meter hohe Wahrzeichen zu den neuen sieben Weltwundern der Natur gehört. Falls du mal eine Reise dorthin planst: Passt eure Fahrt mit der Seilbahn am besten so, dass ihr genau die Goldene Stunde erwischt. Während der ikonische Lion’s Head bereits seine langen Schatten über Teile der Stadt wirft, wird das Plateau des Berges in wunderschönes goldenes Licht getaucht.

Ein echtes Kleinod direkt vor den Toren der Stadt. Unterwegs im berühmten Treppenviertel von Blankenese – dieser Blick über die Dächer und die Elbe wird einfach nie langweilig.

Sonnenaufgang um 5 Uhr morgens ist echt kein Spaß, aber Kopenhagen war die kurze Nacht absolut wert. Durch puren Zufall ist Dominik auch gerade in Dänemark, also haben wir uns spontan zusammengetan, um den Nyhavn in einem düsteren, bewölkten Morgenlicht einzufangen. Auch wenn der Sonnenaufgang nicht optimal war, haben die schweren Wolken den ikonischen bunten Häusern einen richtig coolen, dramatischen Look verpasst. Swiped bis zum Ende, um zu sehen, wie sich die Stimmung beim Sonnenuntergang am Abend davor verändert hat!

• I was born in Stuttgart and have been living in Hamburg for almost 9 years.
• I picked up my first camera 15 years ago (it was a Canon 40D.
• My journey started with portrait photography, nowadays I shoot mostly city scapes & a bit of landscape photography.
• I work in marketing.
• I‘ve been happily married since 2024.
• I have way too many unedited pictures sitting on my hard drives, waiting for me.
• My daily driver is a Fuji X100V other than that, I trust my Canon EOS R with some lenses.
• I don’t do video (yet!), but I’d love to learn — though those gigabytes of unedited photos might disagree.
• I love sunrises.
• Last year I travelled outside of Europe for the first time.
• I lost my heart in Norway in 2019.

• Ich bin in Stuttgart geboren und lebe nun seit fast 9 Jahren in Hamburg.

• Angefangen habe ich mit Portraitfotografie, heute fotografiere ich hauptsächlich Cityscapes und ein bisschen Landschaft.
