Throwback to one of those “Did it burn? Oh yes, you bet it did…” sunrises over the rooftops at the Portugiesenviertel.
A scene with the Michel-tower that rarely disappoints. I wonder about the view from one of those windows on mornings like these. Hope you all have a great week going on so far!

Is it a sunrise mission if you take the picture walking home at 6 AM on one of the bridges over the Danube after spending a whole day & night at a music festival?

I’m not sure, but I like how the soft early light holds the Parliament floating over the water. Hope you like it as much & thanks a lot for your support on recent posts!

Scenes from a slow afternoon spent in the corridors of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. In frame you can see the three big halls of the museum: the Renaissance Hall, the Romanesque Hall & the Baroque Hall. The last time all three were open to the public at the same time was around 80 years ago, so now is definitely a good time to visit and take in all the sights. And once you finished marvelling at the architecture, you will still find plenty to look at. The museum opened its doors in 1906 and has been the home of many Hungarian and international artworks, as well as large scale contemporary exhibitions. Right now you can explore a selection from the life and works of Henri Matisse until the middle of October.

Long time no see, friends. As the summer starts to wind down, today felt like a good day to share this throwback to a sunset burner in Budapest back in June. I haven’t been active here since a while, but that’s gonna change in the coming weeks for sure. And I might have some exciting news lined up for you.

More on that and about the whole summer very soon, stay tuned! How about you, how have you been? Let me know in the comments down below! See you around & thanks for being here!

What a difference of 215 days make. Ok, almost 215 days. The first picture was taken today, 31st of May, at 2022 at 9:28 AM. The second one on 28th of October, 2021, at 9:58 AM. Half an hour missing… but the reflections of the Goldbekkanal still deliver like clockwork, if you ask me. Which one do you prefer and why? Let me know in the comments!

ps. Oh and yeah, I would say this is a fairly good example that sometimes your own backyard can give you the most surprisingly nice photo subjects. Sometimes it just takes a bit of patience.

Light is a magician. Here’s a proof of that from a great morning walk recently around the Nikolaifleet. Loved to see how that sunshine peeked over the rooftops on the right side and filled up those facades with a warm light in just seconds. Wouldn’t mind at all if the next mornings in Hamburg would have a similar mood. Well, one can dream… till then, enjoy the view and let me know what you think of this one in the comments!

Some scenes deserve the landscape treatment. I couldn’t think of a better one recently that does. Hope you had a nice and sunny weekend, enjoy the view!

Unreal

If yesterday’s sunrise was incredible, today was the icing on the cake. Not only the sky had a magical color explosion, but at the same time a freezing layer of fog was hanging low over the waters of the Hafen. And of course some snow remaining from earlier this week. I thought I’m gonna start with the snowy pictures today, but this was just too special for me to wait with it. Hope you gonna like it just as much. Let me know in the comments!
