I shared recently in my stories about having to evict tenants from our rental property and walking into the aftermath of the home being trashed. It was stressful and emotionally draining. I still had to lead, still had to show up for clients, still had to be present in my marriage, motherhood, friendships, and responsibilities while carrying all of that behind the scenes with my husband.

While I’m learning that true expansion is actually your capacity increasing so you can responsibly hold what’s growing. Because if capacity does not expand alongside opportunity, the weight of “more” eventually starts crushing the person carrying it, exposing character flaws.
This year has required so much more of me. But honestly? I am thankful for that too. Because I can feel my dependence on God deepening in a way it never would have if life stayed within my comfort zone.
Some of the very things we pray for will require a version of us we are still growing into. And sometimes God answers those prayers by expanding our capacity to carry it well.
In all of this, my biggest prayer is: “God, give us wisdom in every decision we make so that You may be pleased with every step we take. I do not want to navigate any of this without You.”

There were so many years where we worked hard, prayed hard, and believed hard for things we desperately wanted to see happen. We had timelines in our heads. And I was personally confused why it felt like God was delaying on answering some of our prayers.
But now, living in the life we’re in today, we look back and realize something we couldn’t see then.
God was preparing us.
I have never been in a season where our plates feel SO full, where we’re carrying so much responsibility, but our hearts still feel full too because we’re still stewarding the things that really matter.
And that means the most to me. Because one of the affirmations I speak over my life every single day is this: “I will succeed AND keep good relationships. I will succeed AND have a good marriage. I will succeed AND have spiritual victory. I will succeed AND be spiritually and emotionally safe. I will succeed professionally AND flourish personally.”
There were things we prayed for years ago that we were not ready to steward yet. There was wisdom we hadn’t grown into yet. And now I find myself thanking God for the prayers He didn’t answer and the delays that frustrated me.
We’re rich in life, love, family and community. Everyday I find myself so thankful to God for all that He’s done.
My life is a testimony not just of the prayers God said yes to, but of the prayers He loved me enough to say no to.
If you’re in a waiting season right now, just know that sometimes God delays the very things we’re praying for because He’s preparing us to carry them WELL. One day you will look back and realize His timing wasn’t late, and He didn’t forget about you, it was truly His mercy. And it will finally all make sense.
When you desire answers more than you desire God, you open yourself up to deception.
The enemy doesn’t always attack with destruction. Sometimes he distracts with “revelation” that didn’t come from God.
When you fear lack, you block the flow. Nothing you consume in God’s system was designed to end with you, it was designed to multiply through you. Your consumption should activate abundance!
It costs you the rooms you were called to walk in boldly. It costs you opportunities you were anointed to carry.
The Israelites saw themselves as grasshoppers, and that one perception cost them an entire generation.
Playing small is comfortable, but it’s expensive. Spiritually, emotionally, generationally. And often, the price is purpose.

After experiencing difficulty in our marriage, I went to God and repented for thinking that I knew better than Him. I asked God to restore our marriage and He did just that and more.
After 2 years of marriage, my husband confessed Jesus as Lord.
God gave us beauty for ashes.
When I look at our family today I’m honestly blown away by the goodness of God. He didn’t have to turn it around, but He chose to.
We aren’t your typical Christian love story, but I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. The journey has made the present so much sweeter and honestly… I love that our story is so different lol.
My favorite kind of stories are the ones that show the redemptive nature of God. I’m just happy the greatest author of all time included us in that number.
