We are looking for a Senior Business Developer — but not in the conventional sense.
This is not a marketing role.
And not a standard hire.
We are looking for someone who approaches this like a founder. Someone who sees the commercial potential in what Avci Architects has built and wants a genuine stake in what it becomes. Not an employee with a title, but a commercial partner.
You understand international architecture, construction and development markets from the inside. Not as a designer, but as someone who knows how practices win work, how developers think, and how deals are made. You have real relationships in the right rooms. A proven track record. The judgement to know which opportunities are worth pursuing — and the appetite to go after them.
Minimum five years in a similar role.
You are an allrounder — as sharp in a client boardroom as you are on LinkedIn. Comfortable with AI tools as well as InDesign or Canva. You understand the architecture and development world well enough to have a serious conversation with anyone in it.
You have chosen not to run your own practice. You are not looking for just a salary. You are looking for something worth committing to — and a real commercial stake in what you help to build.
Fluent English is essential. Strong references required.
A Salary Plus arrangement:
A fair and competitive base salary, plus meaningful commission that grows directly with what you bring in. No ceiling. And for the right person, a genuine path to commercial partnership — because the intention from the start is that this becomes as much yours as ours.
Write to us in your own words. Tell us what you have done, who you know, and why you are the right person for this.
Avci Architects is evolving. Over 35 years of practice — award-winning, internationally active, specialists in sustainability — and we are looking for people ready to move into the future with us. Not to fill seats. To be the next generation of this studio.
We want you early.
A year in practice, maybe three. Long enough to know how a real office works — the deadlines, the gap between a great sketch and a buildable detail, the client who changes their mind on a Friday. Not so long that another place has finished shaping you. That gap is exactly where we are looking. Having one to three years of relevant experience is considered advantageous.
We are not searching for qualifications. We are searching for qualities.
A driven allrounder who wants to know everything — not because they were told to, but because they cannot help it. Someone who already understands that God is in the details. Not afraid of AI but commanding it — fluent in Midjourney, Kling, Mnml, Claude and wherever the tools are heading — while still able to put pencil to paper and make something worth showing. An ego that pushes you forward. We also expect you to be proficient with conventional tools such as CAD and SketchUp.
This practice is 35 years old. The question now is what it looks like for the next 35.
The people who come in at this moment have the chance to be part of that answer — to take ownership of a studio that is deliberately reconstructing itself, and to grow inside it as it does. We are not looking for people to fill roles. We are looking for the next generation of Avci Architects.
If you recognise yourself in this, you probably belong here. Send us your portfolio. Tell us your story. Tell us what drives you.

Luano International Airport redefines the arrival experience for the Democratic Republic of the Congo — a symbol of progress, resilience, and global connectivity.
Inspired by local textures, cultural patterns, and the region’s natural landscape, the terminal transforms identity into contemporary architectural form.

Conceived as a multi-layered, multi-generational home, the project is structured around a sequence of courtyards, terraces, and shaded transitions that negotiate privacy and openness. The architectural language responds directly to local climatic conditions through deep façades, controlled openings, and carefully articulated outdoor spaces.
Rather than a singular mass, the house is experienced as a composition of interconnected volumes, allowing varying degrees of independence while preserving a strong spatial continuity. Landscape elements are integrated as spatial buffers, enhancing daylight, natural ventilation, and privacy throughout the residence.
The project reinterprets contemporary residential architecture by merging tradition, sustainability, and modern domestic needs into a cohesive architectural narrative.

Conceived as if distilled from a child’s imagination, the project proposes an intuitive, rule-free way of living deeply connected to nature. Set within Muğla’s natural landscape, with a stream flowing directly in front of the site, the house establishes a fluid relationship between courtyard, water, and landscape, shaping everyday life through calm and continuous spatial experiences.
The single-storey layout is articulated through natural stone and timber elements, while the elevated structure responds to seasonal rainfall, giving the architecture a light and balanced expression. Seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces create a serene atmosphere that carefully balances privacy with openness to nature.

The spatial organization is defined by shaded promenades, public plazas, and landscaped open areas that connect the buildings into a continuous public realm. These outdoor spaces are designed not only for circulation, but also as places for gathering, interaction, and everyday social life.
As the iconic focal point of the project, Africa Arena establishes a strong architectural identity. Its expressive form and relationship with the surrounding public spaces position the arena as a civic landmark and a key meeting point within the urban fabric.

Conceived as an integrated neighborhood rather than a series of housing blocks, the project is structured around generous outdoor spaces that encourage interaction, recreation, and everyday encounters.
The master plan is shaped by a network of landscaped courtyards, swimming pools, shaded terraces, and pedestrian-friendly paths, creating a layered social environment for residents of all ages. Ground-level amenities, communal facilities, and recreational areas are seamlessly embedded into the site, supporting an active lifestyle and strengthening the sense of community.
Architectural massing is carefully articulated to maintain a human scale while responding to local climate conditions. Shaded open spaces, water elements, and vegetation contribute to thermal comfort and enhance the quality of shared outdoor life. By balancing private living with well-defined communal areas, the project aims to foster a sustainable, inclusive, and socially vibrant residential environment in Diamniadio.

Responding to tropical climate conditions, the architecture integrates layered shading systems, controlled transparency, and generous public spaces to enhance comfort while minimizing solar exposure.
Drawing inspiration from regional cultural references and traditional craftsmanship, the design reinterprets local identity through a contemporary architectural language. A central public plaza links the auditorium, congress facilities, and exhibition halls, transforming the site into an active urban gathering space that extends beyond events and becomes part of everyday public life.

Conceived as a new urban focal point for Gaborone, the project brings together congress, hospitality, and public life within a cohesive architectural framework.
Local cultural references, landscape integration, and environmental sustainability inform the massing, spatial organization, and overall design approach.

Building on Industry 5.0 principles, the project reimagines the structure through passive environmental strategies, human-centered workspaces, and a programmatic mix that opens the building to the public. A ground-floor radio station activates the street, co-working and office levels foster collaboration, and a rooftop restaurant creates a new social vantage point for the city.
Together, these layers reshape the building into a dynamic hub where culture, creativity, and community converge.
