The greatest honor of my life 💐 #happymothersday
You’ve likely seen the posts…people linking the onset of autoimmunity to childhood trauma.

And yes, that connection can exist. We know that stress has the ability to trigger inflammation.

But here’s where we need to be careful…

This is not the sole reason someone develops autoimmunity.

Because if it were, then why are autoimmune conditions skyrocketing right now?

Trauma is not new to this generation.

Which is why I’m so excited to see this conversation shift away from a single, blanket “root cause”… and toward a more nuanced, evidence-based understanding.

If you are looking to fight inflammation naturally, one thing your biology requires is a sense of safety.

Even if it starts small.

A few intentional moments a day:
– Listening to your favorite song
– Praying before a meal
– Rocking your baby to sleep

These aren’t just “nice” habits, they are biological signals that you are okay.

The science is clearer than ever:
When your body feels safe, your brain shifts, digestion improves, and your nervous system moves out of a constant stress response.

And that’s when remission become possible #autoimmunediet #autoimmunehealing #scleroderma #sclerodermawarrior #linearmorphea
Let's break this down real quick

#morpheascleroderma #chronicillness #inflammation #autoimmunedisease
Can we talk about “bouncing back” from postpartum for a sec?

My daughter, turned 10 months old a week ago, and I’ve officially hit the point where I thought I’d be bounced back by now. You know, 10 months of pregnancy takes 10 months of healing. Sounds logical enough, right?

But here I am, not bounced back. I still don’t feel like myself. I haven’t lost all the weight I wanted to, and in these moments, that voice in my head gets loud saying, “You’re not doing enough.”

Then the roll call starts:
👀 I need to get up earlier
👀 I need to prioritize weight lifting
👀 I should be better at balancing motherhood, business, life, and health by now

And you know what? Some of these points are technically true, which is why so many smart women fall into this way of thinking. But here’s what’s also true:

Biologically, you are more at risk of developing or reactivating an autoimmune disease within a year of having a baby.

This is why even after 10 years in Scleroderma remission, I feel more vulnerable than I have in years. Which is why, when that voice gets loud telling me I’m not doing enough, I shift my focus to this instead:
A pro-athlete mindset. ⚽️

Professional athletes don’t skip the basics. They master them. The same practices a high school athlete does are the ones professionals return to over and over again.

This commitment of repetition is what how an athlete understands their body, its strengths, its vulnerabilities, and how to perform at the highest level without injury.

So here I am, 10 months postpartum and 10 years into Scleroderma remission, going back to the basics to build a foundation stronger than ever before.

And the best part? This time, I’m bringing you with me.

So you can see the power of a gentle healing approach and why fighting for your health in a way that feels doable and enjoyable actually increases your odds of remission.

10 things I’ve learned in 10 years of remission:

⒈ Your body was created to heal, and the Bible holds unlimited resources.
2. Stop sacrificing your emotional health in the pursuit of physical healing.
3. Want food to be medicine? You are not what you eat. You are what you digest.
4. The best diet for autoimmune disease? A nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory approach. (Not AIP)
5. If your healing journey makes you miserable, you’re trading a prison cell for handcuffs. That’s not real freedom.
6. Naturally fighting inflammation helps medications work better. This is how healing alongside medication is possible.
7. Once you reach remission, the goal becomes staying there.
8. Your healing journey doesn’t end, so make sure it’s one you actually enjoy.
9. Foundations aren’t just for beginners, they are the pillars of mastering your health.
10. People will call something delusional until it happens. Remission is possible.

Which lesson is your favorite? Let me know.
A full decade in remission hallelujah ✝️

“Avoiding fast food and eating high-protein breakfasts” ≠ eating anti-inflammatory.

Most women with autoimmune disease are told to:
✔️ Eat clean
✔️ Avoid gluten/dairy/sugar
✔️ Add protein to every meal

But if symptoms aren’t changing… it might be this 👇 balanced meals ≠ anti-inflammatory meals.

🚫 Anti-inflammatory meals aren’t determined by what you eliminate.
✅ Anti-inflammatory meals are built by what you EAT

like foods packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and plant compounds that fuel your cells, rebuild tissues, and help calm the inflammation chaos.

NOURISHMENT IS MEDICINE.

Not protein obsessions. Not perfection. Not elimination.

Want more dos and don’t about turning your food into medicine?

What if I told you that restoring your gut health is a lot like gardening?👀

Hear me out 👏

Gardening (or even growing a single plant) takes awareness and patience 🌱

You ALSO need the right strategy to care for your UNIQUE plants. What works for a cactus is not going to work for a tomato plant, right?!

The same is true with your gut health. A one size fits all approach may not give you the lasting relief and freedom, you deeply desire.

Because your gut health is just like a garden, it's a collection of different plant species all living together; with each plant needing its own simple and unique form of TLC.

Simple steps of support that may seem like no big deal, can make all the difference when practiced with consistency.

So let me know in the comments- how are you tending to your gut health garden?👇🏼

Are you watering it enough?

Are you exposing it to sunlight?

Are you providing it with the right nourishment and soil?

Is this helpful?
Are you ready for more personalized support?

If so, I'm here to be your "tomato cage", guiding you to restore your gut health effectively, so you can experience more fruitful and healthy days ahead. 🥰
