Part of my plan with moving back to Colorado at the start of this year was to make sure I spent my summer seeking out new locations and revisiting old favorites in the high country of the San Juan and Elk Mountain ranges. It was an exceptional wildflower season as I’d hoped, specifically for my favorite flower of them all - the Rosy Indian Paintbrush. The San Juans and the Elks are far and away my favorite zones of the state to explore and this season was a swift reminder that above all else, this is still my favorite place of anywhere I’ve been to spend my summers. Whether I’m onto something or it’s just pure bias, in my humble opinion there is no place as colorful or unique as the Colorado high country from late June-August. Already looking forward to more adventures here next summer 👌🏼

It seems like each year the Spring season grows closer and closer to becoming my favorite season of them all, and this year was no different. From capturing fields of wildflowers beneath Pacific Northwest volcanoes, being above the clouds along the Bay Area coast, to completing my biggest and favorite project to date throughout Arizona, it was a Spring season I’ll never forget but hope to top in 2026.

If you’ve ever experienced a fresh snowstorm in the southwest, you know just how magical days like in the desert can be. Recently I had the opportunity to spend a day with touring one of the most beautiful areas in all of the Southwest under a fresh coat of snow and have struggled to come up with words to describe just how incredible this experience was. Monument Valley is one of the most beautiful desert landscapes in the whole world and I feel incredibly blessed to have experienced it in these conditions 🙏🏼
