I enjoy eating healthy whole foods but sometimes those craving kick in and not having junk in the house really helps.
Today I prioritize my health over everything.
I choose to eat organic whole foods for the majority of my diet. That doesn’t mean my diet is perfect but I would say I follow a 95/5 ratio the majority of the time.
I still enjoy the occasional donut, pint of ice cream, alcohol, etc but these make up a very small portion of my overall diet. I also don’t keep those items in the house so I’m not tempted to indulge.
It’s important to note that I am not trying to compete in a bodybuilding show or a competitive sport. I’m a dad and I work full time.
I simply want to feel good. I want great metabolic health, I want to move well and have the ability to play with my kids well into the late years of my life.
Diet and fitness is not only about being physically fit for me. It’s much more of a mental gain above anything else. The aesthetics is just a positive side effect from the discipline I commit myself to.
