E ogni volta che lo dico faccio ancora fatica a crederci.

Eppure, a un certo punto, qualcosa dentro di me si è spento.
Mi sono allontanata. Sono sparita. Non perché non amassi più quello che facevo, ma perché avevo bisogno di ritrovare me stessa.
Ci sono stati giorni in cui pensavo di non farcela, giorni in cui anche fare le cose che amavo sembrava troppo.
Poi, piano piano, ho ricominciato. Ho rimesso insieme i pezzi. Ho ricominciato a credere in me.
E proprio quando pensavo che il peggio fosse passato, è arrivata un’altra prova.
Ho iniziato ad avere dolori sempre più forti.
Dopo mesi senza risposte, ho scoperto di avere una particolare conformazione del colon che nessuno aveva mai individuato. Una condizione con cui convivevo da tempo e che mi aveva portata a rischiare perfino un problema serio.
Ricordo di aver pensato una sola cosa: “possibile che ogni volta che provo a rialzarmi succeda sempre qualcosa?”
Ma oggi, guardandomi indietro, forse ho capito che ogni ostacolo mi stava solo insegnando ad apprezzare ancora di più questo momento.
Perché tra due giorni salirò su quell’aereo.
E non sarà solo un volo verso gli Stati Uniti. Sarà il viaggio di quella bambina che sognava il calcio. Di quella ragazza che si è persa, che ha avuto paura e che ha ricominciato più di una volta.
E che, nonostante tutto, non ha mai smesso di credere che un giorno ce l’avrebbe fatta.
Tra due giorni vivrò il Mondiale.
E questa, per me, non è solo una partenza: è il sogno della vita.
