Thank you for being my best friend for almost 18 years. You’ve been my biggest source of comfort and joy since i was 12 years old, and i was never alone having you by my side every day. I will always cherish the joy and laughter you brought to my life, playing ball with you for hours, watching you catch flies, “racetrack” around the house, beg for and steal pizza, hiding stolen bagels and chicken nuggets around the house, bringing me your toy “offering” whenever i got home with your wiggly butt and little excited whimpers, crawling on my chest and saying good morning with your squinty smile, rolling around on heated blankets or my warm laundry, and sunbathing with your squinty eyes in the yard. You were such a good little adventure dog and we have been through so much together. Every big move, new job, graduation, heartbreak, you were there for me and my solid ground when things felt shaky. You touched so many lives and made every person you met fall in love with you, even if they said they didn’t like small dogs or chihuahuas, you always changed their mind. You had the cutest biggest personality for a 5 pound dog, so spunky and always such a fighter til the very end. I will love you forever, and I will never be the same without you. You have a piece of my heart, and losing you is my biggest heartbreak. This is the saddest day of my life, and letting you go is the hardest thing i’ve ever had to do. I am grateful to have never left your side and that you were surrounded by everyone that loves you at home when you were ready to leave this earth. goodbye baby girl momma loves you so much and i hope you are at peace wherever you are
The summers in the PNW seem to flyyy by so it’s been a strug to balance living slower and more intentionally versus just being GO GO GO every weekend wanting to see as much as I can😆 I can’t be the only one who struggles with this😅
This is the first hike we did after moving to the PNW and it was a great way to shake the rust off. The hike is roughly 13 miles with no crazy elevation gain but you’re basically on the edge of a cliff for a good portion of it 😳 The tunnel you walk through behind the falls to get to the view is so unique, glad we crossed this one off our list. This is a perfect hike for an early spring overcast PNW moody day too after being cooped up for the winter.
Props to little Indi girl for hiking the whole way with us too, luckily she didn’t judge us for being slow! 😝
This hike holds a special place in my heart - it was my first and only hike in WA 3 years ago when I visited for 1 brief day, and since moving here last year, I’ve been back ~5 times! The views never disappoint and I finally faced my fears and stood on the rock ledge below 😂 the 360 views paired with stunning light are truly unforgettable.
Heads up that this hike will be closed July 7-September 15 for restoration of the fire lookout. I’m already counting down the days until it reopens!
We scored permits to sleep at one of the lakes a couple months ago and have been counting down the days - thankfully we lucked out with PERFECT conditions, minus those pesky mosquitos! 😅😂
The cutest deer kept hanging out by our campsite eating grass all night long, I was of course paranoid the noises outside our tents were a bear coming to attack (thanks intrusive thoughts 😂) but thankful it was just “Deery” and “Deerina”, (that’s what i named them, they were definitely an item 💁🏼♀️)

From dreamy hot air balloon launches at sunrise (seriously, a photographer’s dream) to endless fields of colorful blooms, food options, and fun activities, this place had it all. Plus, it’s dog friendly — so i didn’t have to feel guilty leaving my fur babies behind!
Even though the clouds stole our sunset, the mems (and tulip plants I snagged for home) made it the perfect unforgettable spring day. 💁🏼♀️🌷 Spring in the PNW really is ~ elite ~
