In addition….I WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO DANCE FOR FREE🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, life is what we imagine it to be. Whatever we put our attention on will be true for us. If I choose to see only the bad sides of life, guess what, only the bad sides of life will be jumping at me. If I choose to always be offended or play a victim, guess what, I will find myself in situations of victimhood more and more. It’s all in our heads, bitches. Like LITERALLY everything.
//I’ve realized that I haven’t really posted a book list for quite a while, so…. here it goes. This specific list is aimed at tackling problems with emotion control, self-love, human biology and human psychology:

1) Evolve Your Brain by Joe Dispenza- I’ve dedicated several posts to this book half a year ago but I simply can’t (and won’t) stop mentioning this book. It’s brilliant. If you want an elaborate and yet engaging introduction to neuroscience and human biology, this book is for you. It’s a must-read if you want to evolve…
2) The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins- again, this book probably doesn’t need much introduction as it’s become an absolute bestseller and a classic in the world of pop-science and non-fiction. Simply read it if you want to understand why you really have no control over your biology, hormones, genes etc.
3) Behave by Robert M. Sapolsky- it’s a bit of a long-read that gets a bit too boring and analytical at times. It feel like the author is trying to mention every single piece of research on human development and biology without really trying to tie it all together to advance an argument. I felt lost and bored at times because I simply couldn’t follow a single train of thought. Yet, it’s still a great book if you want to… basically learn everything about human biology. It’s a great book that will help you understand what exactly is going on in your brain at every stage of your life. It also talks extensively about brain chemistry and its impact on our decisions minutes, hours and even years prior to it. Again, after reading this book you’ll feel even more like a dumb ape🤣 (which we are).

All of these books are no easy reads. It will take time to get through them (it took me a month on average to finish each one of them). So take your time, don’t rush it. And remember the golden rule of reading: if the book doesn’t engage you after 50 pages, drop it and pick up something else. This way you’ll be truly excited about the book that you are reading. It gets hard at times because the oh-no-but-this-is-a-classic-so-I-need-to-grind-my-teeth”narrative has infiltrated our minds. So, let it go.

As I mentioned before, this last trip to Sri Lanka reminded me of a simple truth: life is exactly what you imagine it to be. What you believe about yourself and the world is what you are going to get. Our reality is a reflection of our inner world. It may sound stupid and naive, but if you think about it, it totally makes sense. If we focus our mental energy on anger, hatred and unfairness, we are going to be encountering and seeing only these things in our physical reality.

It kinda blows my minds how we could just Google and learn things online that will help us build a new reality. Feel stuck in your 9-5 job?-No, problem. Just browse through 30033 thousand courses online that are gonna teach you how to make money online. At any moment in your life you can just say “fuck it”, move to India and live with the Buddhist monks for some time. You could teach English online and live on a mountain somewhere in Tibet. Or you could become an artist…. Or get married…. Or…. Literally anything.

It feels empowering to know that every change in life happens in our brains. I guess we just have to not be afraid. People are usually scared of change. We are scared that bad things could happen to us. Yet, the thing is: anything could happen. Anything. And it is so liberating.

// “Why do bad things happen to good people?” is the question a lot of us probably have asked ourselves.

As a meaning-seeking beings, we tend to process events in terms of what they mean to us: did I do something wrong? Why am I getting punished? And it is a human habit to search for meaning in everything.

We are also a story-telling species. Our brains like to create coherent stories, so that we could make sense of the world. Things must happen for specific reasons, they must have a point. Our brains are not satisfied with randomness.

Yet, science would tell us that the universe has no inherent purpose or design. Period. It’s just random. Let that sink in.

As unlikely and unsettling as it seems, it is totally plausible that the universe and all the complexity and life and consciousness contained within it could in fact have emerged and evolved entirely spontaneously and unguided.

Things just happen. So, it becomes quite obvious that bad things happen for the same reason anything happens: the same laws of nature that underlie all causes and effects. There is nothing special about the causation of things that we humans define as “bad.” If we accept the fact that the Universe exists without a deeper (and quite often convoluted purpose that we humans ascribe to it) then it becomes easier to accept the fact that shit just happens. So a much better question to ask ourselves would be: Now that this shit has happened to me, what am I going to to about it? How am I going to react?

The idea that life is totally random is unsettling, but it can be liberating. We could finally stop the cycle of self-blame and focus our attention on learning ways of coping with things we deem “bad”. Luckily, there are lots of methods out there, and a lot of them were invented thousands of years ago.

P.S: These photos are totally staged and fake BUT I DONT CARE LET ME BE OKAY🤣 I’ve been meaning to take such stupid photos FOR YEARS
Look how he abused me and beat me,
How he threw me down and robbed me.”
Live with such thoughts and you live in hate…
Abandon such thoughts and live in love.

In this world
Hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law,
Ancient and inexhaustible.

(Dhammapada 3-5)

I really hope each one of us will find the strength and courage to love one another. Being in such beautiful places reminds me of one simple truth: God is love. We live to learn how to love. Oneself. The other. The world.

The funny thing is, people assume I personally feel happier when surrounded by such divine scenery, but truth be told, I’m as happy and as grateful when I’m in Germany working on something of value. Gratitude, love and compassion don’t depend on your location or your bank account. I think it all begins in the heart. May we all find happiness and love in every day of our lives🙏😭

Never forget that you always have a choice. Always.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ll just leave it here to show my grandchildren one day.
I’m really excited about this trip because we’ve planned so many activities! Yoga, snorkeling, surfing, kite-surfing, safari, hiking and much more. I’ve also realized how addicted I am to my phone, so I’ll be trying to minimize doomsrolling. Yet, I also wanna take pictures, videos and share everything with you, kind people 🤣(though not so kind lately).

Also, after spending a whole day sitting I can’t stop moving. Pushups, squats, yoga, swimming-you name it.
