After my family spent a few months living in a 100sqft space with no running water, gas or amenities our next step was a hotel. We spent 6 months as a family of 5 and a Belgian Malinois living in a hotel. The funny thing is that it was a huge step up. We now had lights, heat and/or AC and we could take a shower without having to borrow anyone's bathroom. And our Belgian Malinois lived with us there too. He slept close to us every night and he spent a lot of time outside. We all did. This dog won't be cooped up inside. Praise God there was a dog park and he made a lot of friends on our journey. I never could have imagined living in a hotel. Come to find out, there's A LOT of families who are. Many of them have no end in sight. There were families we met that also had kids and dogs. It was an entire little community. There were also many of the other parts that came with hotels and homelessness....there were drug deals daily, there were drug busts weekly. There were prostitutes and partiers. There were people who knew Jesus and others who didn't. God put us in a place I never would have put myself and He carried us through it. You spend all your paycheck living in a hotel on the room, and food because there's no way to cook for ourselves yet. There were some weekends we slept in the car and a few weeks we slept in the backyard of a home. We were able to share Jesus with some who never knew Him and we were able to have Bible studies with those who did. When I stopped feeling sorry for myself and the position we were in I was able to see how God was using it in our lives. Some days it felt like we would be in the hotel forever. I stayed in prayer and I tried to be a representation for Jesus in our time of hardship because I knew some of those people did not yet know Him. I had a choice to sit in sadness or to walk in faith. I chose to trust God knowing He always has a plan and His plan is perfect and always far better than our plans. Thank You Jesus for carrying through this storm. #godisgood #belgianMalinois #workingdog #jesuslovesyou #homelessnessOne year ago today my mama would take her last painful, shallow and struggling breath from her broken, weak and sick body. She would enter Jesus' arms and be given her new and perfect heavenly body. Her fight was over and no matter what, she won. She fought with all she had. She suffered silently so others wouldn't pity her. I saw her pain more than anyone else because she lived with me. I saw her try to keep going like her life used to be, visiting her friends, going to the beach, taking photos....but I saw her lose the ability for each of the things she loved. Most days she didn't get out of bed, not because she didn't want to but because it was too painful.
The death of my mom also meant both my parents were no longer on this earth. No longer could I call or text them when I want to share parts of life with them. Let me tell you, there's been many. Thank you for giving me life, even if at the time you weren't planning on having another child. I love you! #cancersucks #jesuslovesyouOne of the hardest parts about our homelessness was not just having 3 children, it was my Belgian Malinois puppy. He didn't have a yard of his own for so so long. This journey was very hard on him too. The first week was the hardest as we were staying in a trailer with no power, heat, gas or running water. It was 25 degrees at night and in the mornings. It was so hard to adjust but everyone managed to. I remember Leonidas not understanding the change and he struggled. The first few days he would cry and he was stressed. I would run to Jesus and pray not to have to lose our dog as we lost everything else. The rescues are so so full the last thing I wanted to do was put this amazing boy in one! As long as my family could all be together and so could our dog I could get through whatever battle and challenges came my way. I was fragile, I was broken and I have lost my mom and basically all our material possessions. I could not lose my dog. This was not easy. I was walking in the freezing cold morning, noon and night and I didn't mind doing so for him. He didn't have a yard so he was tied up a lot too. He had a 50ft lead and that allowed him to explore and not run off. Once he began to settle he really enjoyed the outside areas he was at and could explore. There were chicken and ducks and peacocks....he did catch a chicken and a duck once but they were able to be rescued. 🫣 I was so grateful how well this pup adapted and came along beside us during this journey. He romped, he made friends, and he got lots of snuggles. This was 2 months of our journey and it was the hardest circumstances under the living conditions, but God is so so good! Thank you Jesus for allowing us to keep our baby Leonidas. He has blossomed into such an amazing dog. Now that he has a yard and a home he is more calm than ever. He is happy and so are we. #belgianmalinois #belgianmalinoisofinstagram #malinois #k9 #godisgoodWhat is a reflection? It's not the exact copy of something but it illuminates just enough of that story with the right light. There are slight distortions and ripples in these reflections but they are still so beautiful. As I reflect on 2025 I see a war, a fight, a battle and a victory. After my mom died on January 5th 2025 we would become homeless in just a few short weeks. We would spend the year trying to find our place, a place, an open door when it felt as if they all slammed in our faces, they shattered, they locked and they were not open to walk through. To say I was broken and shattered is an understatement. We walked away from 98% of all earthly possessions to look for refuge and rest for our heads, our three children and our Belgian malinois who was 8 mo old. We couldn't just crash on couches and roam home to home...we literally didn't have options. As I reflect on 2025 I remember the fear I began with, the heaviness, emptiness and struggle. I reflect and see all those emotions transform into trust, hope, joy and healing. I didn't know the way, but God had a plan. As I reflect back on 2025 I am grateful for how God broke me, shed so many layers I had held onto for dear life and he began transforming me into a warrior for Jesus Christ. Through me...I did nothing, though Jesus I broke generational chains, I freed parts of me I had held hostage with fear. I replaced them with Jesus word, prayer and trusting His truth. I am trying to find the words to show you how our homeless journey from Jan 28-December 1 became a healing journey and a blessing from The Lord. When God closes a door it is so He can open a different one for you. Thank You Jesus for the struggle because that is where I truly found you and learned to cling to You for dear life. Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life! #godisgood #homeless #godsgrace #jesussaves #gratitudeWhile we explore our new town and settle into our new life here I am overwhelmed with God's grace and how His timing is perfect. This time last year my mom was dying. She went on hospice the day after Christmas. The last time the kids and I heard her voice was Christmas day. We exchanged text messages the next 2 days after Christmas and then the messages became one sided without her response. My mom would hold on to her earthly body and this earthly life for 8 more days. 5 days into this process me and the kids called her and she would quietly listen to us all say our goodbyes, we sang to her and read her scripture from the Bible. Knowing this would be the last time I would speak to her here on earth I struggled to let the phone call end. My mom and I had a hard relationship and it wasn't always what either of us dreamed of, but we loved each other and that was real. Sunday, January 5th my mom would take her last breath and go into the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ. No more sickness, no more pain and no more struggles. She was given a new heavenly body. To think the passing of my mom closed a chapter in my life I had lived since I was born, it also began an extremely rough year that has lead us here, to our new home and new life. Thank you Jesus for this path. ✝️💟💕🙏 #jesussaves #godisgood #familyloveThis boy loves to play ball. He loves to tug and run and walk and work. He will take a small break in between every so often so I can snap a picture of him that way. I rarely get the pic I want because by the time I pull my phone out he is ready to play again. Haha. I love my #belgianmalinois #maligator #malinoislovers #workingdogTo trust in God is not always easy, but He will never let you down. He is the author and the finisher, He uses us to show His love, His mercy and His grace. Because Jesus saved me, the sinner, the broken wretch, I can stand and tell you He is The Way, The Truth and The Light. If you follow Jesus you will never regret it. This world doesn't always make this path easy, rarely does it, but it is worth it. Thank You Jesus for saving me! #jesussaves #gratitude #ɢᴏᴅɪsɢᴏᴏᴅ #jesusisking #godisfaithfulThose of us who own Belgian malinois understand this all too well. This guy is such a perfect addition to our already crazy and not normal family. His personality is so HUGE it takes a special person to comprehend and understand the fierce love these dogs have. Sadly, I see more and more on the streets and ready to die in a shelter, it kills me. The decision to get a dog should never be fast and careless and it should be even longer if you're looking into a breed that works. These dogs need mental and physical work and stimulation and they are still a lot. Everyone thinks they know how to handle a dog until they have to handle a dog that is really smart and high energy. These dogs challenge us, so if you're not up for a challenge, please don't get one. My guy is going to be a year old in less than a month. Where did the time go? I'm so grateful for his face chomping kisses. No, he doesn't bite my face, he is loving me fiercely and I love him right back! #belgianmalinoismom #maligator #workingdog #godisfaithful #belgianmalinoisarebuiltdifferentMy sunrise views make the early morning drives to work very doable. I'm always a sucker for the sunset, but as I've gotten older I love the sunrise just as much. ✝️❤️ #happyfri̇day #godisgood #godscreation #jesussaves #instagoodDoes anyone else struggle to post photos of themselves? I dislike it greatly. However, my skin has truly been transforming from the inside out as my body has been healing. The last photo is my before pic, I would wake up with puffy eyes everyday and the natural aging was happening. As I have been taking the internals daily and using this skincare I am beginning to really see a difference. Feed your body and your skin good things so it can glow for you. We don't realize how much crap is truly allowed in our food and skincare until we kick the crap out and go clean. If you're looking to make changes into a cleaner lifestyle and you don't know where to begin, let me help you reach your goals!!!! 💜 #healyourgut #healthy #healthiswealth #jesuslovesyou #healing
