Nala hat vor ca. 2 Jahren eine Granne eingeatmet. Wir haben damals aus Unwissenheit nicht richtig reagiert - dass das fast Nalas Todesurteil war, hätten wir nie gedacht.

Unser Lieblingsort - warum? Kann ich euch gar nicht so genau sagen. Es ist hier rauer als im Norden, die Klippen sind nicht ganz so hoch, es gibt mehr kleine Buchten aber auch weite Sandstrände. Deutlich weniger Touristen und allgemein weniger Menschen. Und es ist tatsächlich zum Essen gehen deutlich günstiger - aber deshalb nicht weniger lecker!
Meine Tipps für diese Gegend in Cornwall:
Restaurants
- waren hier nur zum Sunday Roast, aber ist eines unserer Favorites geworden! Muss hier unbedingt noch mehr probieren.
- unser liebstes Fischrestaurant.
- auch ein gutes Restaurant für Fisch in Penzance.
- eines der besten Fischrestaurants in ganz Cornwall!
- waren wir selbst noch nicht, ist aber auf der Liste. Kate Winslet sagt dass sei ihr Lieblingsrestaurant, also muss es gut sein 🤭
- super Frühstück in Penzance.
Dog and Rabbit St. Just - unser liebstes Frühstückslokal, viel vegan und vegetarisch.
The Queen‘s Arms St. Just - klassischer Pub mit modernen Gerichten, hier sind wir jedes Mal mindestens einmal.
- super gutes Essen mit orientalischen Einflüssen.
- Weinbar und Restaurant in einem, mag ich sehr!
- Frühstück, Lunch oder nur einen Cappuccino am Strand, mit tollem Blick über Hayle Beach.
- ehrlich gesagt eine ganz andere Gegend, nämlich im Westen, aber das sollte man nicht verpassen!
Strände & To Do‘s
- tolles Weingut mit super Wein und Cider. Haben auch eine super Pizza (natürlich auch gf)
St. Ives - einfach schön hier.
Hayle Beach - breiter und langer Sandstrand.
Gwithian Beach - direkt neben Hayle, toller Sunset Spot.
Gwynver Beach - kleine Bucht bei Sennen, auch ein toller Sunset Spot.
Porthcurno Beach - einfach mein liebster Strand, muss man unbedingt gewesen sein! Wer gut zu Fuß ist und gerne klettert, sollte unbedingt von hier zum Pedn Vounder Beach laufen.
Der Coastal Path ist überall wunderschön und man sollte zumindest einige Abschnitte davon gehen, wir mögen die Gegend um St. Just sehr.

In diesem Teil von Cornwall bekommt ihr breite Sandstrände, hohe Klippen und richtig gute (Sterne-)Restaurants.
Meine Tipps für die besten Restaurants, Strände & Co. gibt’s hier für euch:
Restaurants
- Fischrestaurant in Padstow mit kleinen Gerichten zum teilen. Nicht ganz günstig aber sein Geld wert!
- sehr leckeres Essen im italienischen Stil, mit englischen Einflüssen.
- unser liebstes Restaurant in der Gegend! Ein „besserer Pub“ mit klassischen, englischen Gerichten, aber eleganter umgesetzt. Haben den besten glutenfreien Burger!
The Cornish Arms by Rick Stein - ebenfalls ein toller & moderner Pub, in der Nähe von Harlyn Bay. Bietet sich zum Lunch nach einem Spaziergang an.
The Atlantic in Polzeath - wenn man es mal einfacher, aber lecker haben möchte: hier gibt’s richtig gute neapolitanische Pizza und Pasta, beides auch in glutenfrei. Und man hat hier den besten Sonnenuntergang 🌅
- hier gibt’s sehr guten Cappuccino (selten in England) und lecker Frühstück.
- nicht nur gut für Frühstück, sondern auch zum shoppen von regionalen Produkten.
- etwas weiter zu fahren, aber lohnt sich z.B. zum Sunday Roast.
- hier gibt’s leckere Breakfast Burritos.
Bars
- eine tolle, gemütliche Weinbar in Padstow, in die wir jedes Mal gehen. Hier gibt’s die beste Auswahl an Wein, regional und aus aller Welt. Außerdem gibt’s super Kaffee! Würde ich gerne nach Stuttgart beamen 🤭
- mega schöne und gemütliche Location für leckere Cocktails.
Strände & Co.
Harbour Cove Beach - kann man von Padstow hinlaufen
Rock Beach - von hier über den Coastal Path zum Daymer Bay Beach
Harlyn Bay Beach - von hier zum Long Cove Beach
Bedruthan Steps
Watergate Bay
Port Isaac - süßer Fischerort, hier findet ihr auch eines von vielen Sterne-Restaurants (Outlaw‘s New Road, waren wir leider noch nicht)
Sandymouth Beach - ein Stück zu fahren, aber die Natur ist hier nochmal anders und sehr schön!

Aber: Wir hatten wirklich viel Glück mit dem Wetter, ich glaub so viel Sonne und nur einmal kurz Regen ist zu dieser Jahreszeit nicht normal. Und es gibt auch wirklich sehr unschöne Ecken in England, Cornwall ist da einfach special ✨

Ist und bleibt eines meiner Highlights: Unser Gasherd! Ich koche da so so gern… ist einfach ein anderes Gefühl. Der Backofen ist übrigens ganz normal Elektro und kein Gas, das wäre mir dann doch zu umständlich 🤭
