“Elektras Arbeiten sind Reflexionen über die Begegnung mit der Welt und mit dem Gegenüber. Sie gleichen einem flüchtigen, zugleich aber intensiven Blickwechsel mit einer fremden Person – einem Moment, in dem die Zeit stillzustehen scheint und alles andere in den Hintergrund tritt.
Geprägt von den Sommern ihrer Kindheit in Griechenland, tragen ihre Arbeiten die Atmosphäre der Halbinsel Mani im Süden der Peloponnes in sich: eine Landschaft zwischen Meer und Fels, rau und zugleich von großer Schönheit. Wie die zerklüftete Küste entziehen sich auch ihre Bilder einer eindeutigen Lesart und bleiben offen für Projektionen, Erinnerungen und Assoziationen.
So werden Landschaft und Begegnung zu verwandten Erfahrungen. In ihren Arbeiten hält Elektra genau diesen Moment fest: den kurzen Zustand zwischen Annäherung und Verlust, in dem die Welt für einen Augenblick ihre ganze Intensität entfaltet.”
