The evening centered around the presentation of the inaugural Head of School Award to Kathleen “Kay” Gibbons Favrot ’53. As an alumna, parent, grandparent, volunteer, and Trustee Emerita, Kay’s lifelong dedication to Academy of the Sacred Heart has left a lasting impact on generations of students and families.
Thank you to our Head of School Circle donors and guests for making the evening such a meaningful celebration of faith, community, and the enduring spirit of Sacred Heart.
Sophie founded the Society of the Sacred Heart during a time of immense social rebuilding. She chose to rebuild through the hearts and minds of young people. She taught us that academic excellence and spiritual depth go hand in hand, and that our ultimate calling is to discover and reveal God’s love in the world.
As Saint Madeleine Sophie’s students, educators, leaders, and alumni, we are her sacred legacy. Our commitment to the Goals and Criteria ensure that her vision remains dynamic, responsive, and deeply alive in the 21st century.

Eleanore Habetz, daughter of Mrs. Julie Brewer Habetz ’92 and Dr. Scott Joseph Habetz, is an AP Scholar with Distinction and has earned Highest Honors throughout high school. She has served in numerous leadership roles at Sacred Heart and within the St. Dominic CYO community, including Vice President of St. Dominic CYO, Executive Board Secretary for Student Council, Best Buddies Co-Leader, Relay for Life Co-Leader, Volleyball Captain, and Retreat Team leader. She also serves as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and performs with the school’s liturgical band.
A standout student-athlete, Eleanore has earned All-State, All-Metro, and All-District honors, and the Cardinal Award in both soccer and volleyball and was named the All-district defensive MVP sophomore year, NOLA Small Schools MVP, and LHSAA All-Academic Composite Team in soccer. Through her leadership both on and off the field, she has been recognized for her commitment to community, faith, and service.
Eleanore has also dedicated significant time to volunteer work through organizations including St. Michael’s Special School, Miracle League, Rebuilding Together, and Sacred Heart community events. In 2025, she participated in a three-week Chilean Cultural Exchange program through the Sacred Heart Network, further strengthening her Spanish fluency and global perspective.
In the fall, Eleanore will attend The University of Texas at Austin, where she plans to major in biology on a pre-med track. She addressed the entire Middle and Upper School community as Salutatorian during our Prize Day Ceremony.

Amelia Stein, daughter of Mr. David Stein and Dr. Erin Berger Stein, distinguished herself during her 16 years at Sacred Heart as a National Merit Finalist, attained high scores on the PSAT and ACT, was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidate and AP Scholar with Distinction, served as President of the National Honor Society, and was a member of the Varsity Quiz Bowl and Academic Games teams, earning multiple regional and national awards. She also participated in the Louisiana State Literary Rally, winning first overall in World Geography and placing in Chemistry and Environmental Science.
In the community, Amelia works as an instructor at Kumon, helping local students attain academic proficiency. She also volunteered with Whole Kids Outreach, a nonprofit committed to addressing the unmet health and developmental needs of women and children in rural Missouri.
At the state level, Amelia was selected to serve on the Louisiana Youth Advisory Council, where she worked with peers and members of the Louisiana legislature on initiatives related to school safety, community resources, and technological literacy and safety.
Amelia was also selected to conduct research through the Summer Undergraduate Neuroscience Program at the LSU School of Medicine and presented her findings at the LSU Neuroscience Symposium.
She will attend Tulane University as a recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Honor Scholarship and Honors Scholar distinction, where she plans to major in Neuroscience and study Public Health Healthcare Administration on a Pre-Med track. Amelia delivered the Valedictory Address at graduation.
