La Lucha
2026 • 30 x 40 in • Acrylic on canvas

The first piece in a new series exploring the resilience, identity, strength, and spirit of Mexican and Mexican-American women.

Inspired by the saying:
“They tried to bury us. They didn’t know we were seeds.”

The ribbons in her braid, the hoop earrings, the desert, the fields, the workers, and the colors of our flag all speak to culture, labor, sacrifice, and pride. The pink building in the background references the old Courthouse in Tucson — a symbol of the Mexican-American women who continue carrying our voices forward and fighting for visibility, representation, and community across generations.

The piece also honors the history of the United Farm Workers movement and Dolores Huerta, who coined the phrase “Sí se puede” — words that became a symbol of perseverance, dignity, and collective strength for generations.

“Sí se puede” was never just a phrase. It was survival, resistance, and hope passed from generation to generation.

Entre Espinas y Flores (Self Portrait) 2026
30 x 40 in | Acrylic on canvas

“My greatest strength is my gentleness.”

This piece speaks about resilience, faith, and softness existing at the same time. The cactus spines represent the difficult moments that shape and protect us, while the Sacred Heart and roses reflect devotion, tenderness, and spirit.

A self portrait about carrying both strength and gentleness.

Hand carved and hand painted from reclaimed woodshop scraps.
The carving wraps fully around the form, meant to be experienced from every angle.
Gifted to my mother for Mother’s Day — now part of her private collection.
Honored to create this year’s Tucson International Mariachi Conference poster — for the second year in a row.

Inspired by my parents’ previous posters, my childhood church — San Agustín Cathedral, my second home — and the community that raised me, this year’s poster truly comes from the heart.

To be part of something that celebrates our culture, our music, and our history in Tucson means more than I can put into words. I’m truly grateful to contribute to this legacy.

I’ll be signing posters during the conference and would love to see you there:

Espectacular Concert

I’ll be there signing from 4:00–10:00 PM.

The conference runs April 29 through May 3, 2026, bringing together music, dance, and culture from across generations right here in Tucson.

Nos vemos pronto en Santa Fe for Spanish Market 🤘🏽
This body of work is a celebration of where I come from.

My paintings are rooted in Mexican culture, family traditions, and the everyday beauty of the Southwest—things that have shaped who I am and how I see the world.

Through bold color and expressive forms, I paint memories, symbols, and stories that feel both personal and shared. Each piece is a way of honoring the past while carrying it forward.
