These kids come from humble backgrounds, and It’s amazing how much a small gesture can brighten their day.
When I met my Cambodian friend and he showed me his neighborhood, I couldn’t help but buy notebooks for the kids, give them some cash, and play a few tunes on the ukulele.
Love really is universal. It doesn’t matter where you are—just sharing a little can go a long way. Hope to come back one day to do even more for these amazing kids.
His family couldn’t afford school, so he ended up spending 7 years living within the community, where he received food, shelter, and education through Buddhism.
It’s incredible how strong he is. To me, he really embodies stoicism. Even though his journey was so tough, I’m honestly so proud of who he’s become.
Had dinner with him and his family the other night—his mom made the food, and let me tell you, they’re one of the sweetest families I’ve met.

There’s a warmth in their smiles that feels so genuine, and it feels easy to connect with them. Coming from the western world, where it often feels like most of us are chasing happiness, it’s refreshing to see how many people here seem to embrace the present moment.
While many face their own struggles here, there’s a sense of joy in their smile that feels very genuine.
I thought I might feel lonely, but instead, I’ve connected with a better version of myself and easily found like-minded people. Highly recommend doing things solo, might be surprised by the incredible people you meet and how much more you can love yourself in the process.
