For the #earthday, I take the opportunity to share with you again the project I carried out in Peru, which shows us how it is possible to relate to our planet differently. For the Quechuas, the glaciers are sacred, the mountains, the stars, and the sun. They venerate them and pay tribute. Today it is essential to value what the planet still offers us to have a better future.
The Quechuas have danced and pilgrimed for decades to the Colque Punku glacier in Peru, melting rapidly in recent years. Unlike our perception of nature, for them, knowing that their glaciers are melting is like their god is dying.
"Dancers, musicians, and devotees make the pilgrimage to Tayancani. Throughout the night and most of the day, they walk through the Andes mountains at more than 4,800 meters above sea level."

Con motivo del #díadelatierra, aprovecho para volver a compartir con ustedes el proyecto que realicé en Perú, que nos muestra cómo es posible relacionarnos con nuestro planeta de manera diferente. Para los quechuas, los glaciares son sagrados, las montañas, las estrellas y el sol. Los veneran y les rinden tributo. Hoy es imprescindible valorar lo que el planeta aún nos ofrece para tener un futuro mejor.
Los quechuas han danzado y peregrinado durante décadas al glaciar Colque Punku, en Perú, que se ha derretido rápidamente en los últimos años. A diferencia de nuestra percepción de la naturaleza, para ellos saber que sus glaciares se están derritiendo es como si su dios estuviera muriendo.

La familia Quispe han danzado y peregrinado por décadas rumbo al glaciar Colque Punku en Perú el cual está derritiéndose rápidamente los últimos años. A diferencia de nuestra percepción de la naturaleza, para ellos son elementos sagrados. Es como si su dios estuviera muriendo sin poder hacer algo al respecto.

1. Victor Quispe Quispe, dejó de peregrinar hace casi un década. Sus cuerpo ya no resistía la travesía. “Para mí era una alegría llegar a donde el señor. Tendría 25 o 26 años la primera vez. A lo que veo ahora, da tristeza por eso tampoco voy, porque no hay nevado. Para mí era lo principal. El nevado era alimento para nosotros. Ahorita la tierra está secándose, en varios sitios ya no hay agua. Antes el glaciar llegaba hasta abajo; bajábamos con hielo y lo dejábamos en la roca en donde está el Señor. Lo traía como quien carga su pecado y lo dejaba a lado del señor para regresar libre.
2. Victor sostiene una fotografía en donde su hijo, Richart Aybar Quispe Soto, 62, va cargando la cruz sobre el glaciar. "Recordar el nevado de antes me pone a llorar. No quisiera volver ya, yo sé como está porque he pasado por ahí, da tristeza verdaderamente. Para mí el glaciar es una vida. Sería la muerte si el glaciar desaparece. Siento una decepción. No sé que se puede hacer para recuperarlo porque ya no hay arreglo, creo."
