Annie was everything you could ask for in a partner: bold, brilliant, & a true athlete with a heart for competition. She joined the CHF Family in 2019 when & the Jakobson Family purchased her from & Margie Engle. Partnered with, Annie never failed to give her all — always showing us that with determination & heart, anything was possible. “I’m beyond grateful for the last 6 years spent with such a special mare & all the opportunities we got to share,” said Erika.
She wasn’t just talented — she was a winner. Annie wanted it as much as her riders did, & she delivered time & again on international stages with a number of different riders. “Since first coming to Wellington in 2002, it was a goal of mine to win a 1.40m speed at WEF. I used to think, ‘Someday I’ll beat some 70+ really good riders over big jumps…’ Annie did it for me easily,” shared CHF trainer.
From the show ring to her well-deserved retirement, Annie carried herself with confidence & heart. As Arly said best, “Thank you for everything, Annie — you were a proper badass, & we were honored to have had you on our team.” We are endlessly grateful to her loving owners, her incredible care team here at,, & all the specialists who ensured her retirement was truly fit for a queen.
Annie changed lives, created memories, & reminded us what makes this sport so special. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew & loved her.
