I finally had time to bust out these paints. But it’s been so long, that they are dried out inside the tubes. 🥴 So it’s time to buy new paints and get down to business!
I have a few new friends here on my Instagram page. And I want to introduce myself. Before the shut down, I was a watercolor artist that gave in-person classes. And also was doing Instagram live classes during the shut down in March of 2020. It’s been a long while since I’ve posted. I’ve become a homeschool teacher with four children at home during a pandemic. It’s been a lot. But I’m hoping and planing in my mind how to get back to art again. The year 2020 and 2021 has been one for the books for the entire world. I have to say that though, I’ve been incredibly blessed. We have hunkered down in our home for almost a year now. And I’ve put a lot of things on hold (like most people). But I see hope on the horizon. My parents, in laws, and grandma have been vaccinated. What a huge relief. I am still teaching my two girls at home and managing independent study for my 7th grader and helping my 9th grader through a tough year of distance learning. But we have made it. We are lucky. Many have lost family due to the virus. Many have lost their health due to Covid. Many have lost their jobs due to shut downs. Children have been out of the classroom for 11 months. Working mothers and fathers have been managing distance learning while working from home. It’s been a lot. I see you and honor all that you have gone through. I know art is healing. I feel it calling me again. I hope to be here in this space more as I feel my life balancing out more. I’m sorry I left this space for so long. But I promise I’m still working in my head how to make art a priority again. How are you doing? Do you feel like life is balancing yet? Or are you still struggling? Let me know how you’re doing in the comments below.:)
Hello friends. Long time no see! I’ve been embracing my new normal as a homeschool teacher. I do get to do art with my kids which is fun. But it’s been overwhelming and scary to say the least. We are starting to get into a good routine. But it’s been tough to find that balance of this is school. So no you cannot bring toys to the school table and eat cereal during school. 😂 Our schools may open up in October, but We May ride this out in homeschool until January. How are you all holding up? Tell me about your school situation. How’s it going?
Holding onto summer for as long as possible before pandemic homeschool begins. ❤️
Today on my stories we transformed my playroom into an educational center for the kids. Nothing gives me more anxiety than recreating distance learning (which was totally hodgepodge and disorderly). I had a kid in every room calling for me to help them with computer tech issues. So to ease my own anxiety, I decided to dismantle our disorderly playroom/art room and organize it to be our kids education Mecca. Our state will not allow our schools to be open until the virus has been contained. And my children are so sad. It’s been 5 months home. They were hoping to get back to school. But it’s not looking like it will happen. Today, transforming this space totally helped my girls get excited for school. It also eased some of my anxiety. There are a few more things to do before this all is done. But I like that I have my girls some free reign on a few things which helped them get excited. (My son Michael jumped in for the photo last minute to take all the credit). Who else has changed their space for virtual learning or homeschool? #virtuallearning #homeschool #transformationtuesday
Just some of the things we completed together during our pandemic class schedule. I’m not sure what this year will bring. But I know art is good for the soul.
No gyms, no malls, no salons, no personal care businesses open...that hurt. But the announcement on Friday for no school was like a sucker punch to the gut. How can I get through a year of distance learning? It felt like we were all trying our best, but it was hard. How are you holding up?

(To stay grateful I’m showing you my favorite pup and my favorite new flowers. Foxgloves have my heart. ) ❤️❤️❤️
We just got back from a vacation. A little reprieve from reality. Just as we left, we were informed that our governor shut our state down again. It’s been a little depressing to say the least to go backwards after so many months. I just keep praying that good news is coming. That our children will go back to school someday. The one blessing in all of this is the amount of family time we’ve been able to spend together. We are so blessed. And I know it. So I should just shrug this feeling I woke up with today and look for the good in all things. I’m especially grateful for this little time away during a pandemic. And I’m grateful to be home with my little family. Healthy and happy. I’ll just try to focus on that. How are you holding up? How do you stay positive with our current situation in America?
Summertime on the lake. ❤️
Sorry that my classes have been on hiatus. We are enjoying a bit of summer after four months inside our homes with some cousins. It’s been nice to reconnect with family after so long. I know that we are not out of the woods yet with this uncertain time. But it’s been nice to select a few people to be socially distant with during this pandemic. I will be suspending our weekly class on Friday because we will be on a lake in the woods. I have so enjoyed our art lessons together. I hope you have too! Take this time to enjoy your family and your life. I’ve decided to embrace where I am at in this pandemic. We may not know what tomorrow will hold. But I’m so grateful for what I hold close to me right now. My family. Have a wonderful week. And I will share some of my trip in my stories. Much love to you all!
