Apoorva Jalan: Home is a place where one spends most of their time and it also plays an important role in keeping one’s mind and body healthy. I have always found myself predisposed to the idea of designing, and wanted to grow a career out of the same.
I did my graduation in interior designing from Delhi, and then moved to Florence, Italy to pursue a Masters course in the same. Florence is believed to be the birth place of interior designing and it charmed me in ways unknown. I wanted to translate this idea and sense of lifestyle and luxury in India at affordable prices. This was the seed of the idea that eventually grew up to be my startup.
As I first launched my e-commerce website during the lockdown it did not gain much popularity as the entire nation was experiencing a financial crunch. This was not the only challenge that I was faced with, the competition in this field itself proved to be the biggest obstacle. Also I only got married only a year before, and my partner and parents have been the most supportive throughout. My partner was the one who pushed me to finally pursue my dream. He also set up an office for me to work from, immediately and also handled the logistics initially.
I believe that one should always be legitimate and genuine with whatever they are trying to pursue, because at the end that is what matters the most.
