From quite some time ago, featuring the stunning, but now in black & white.

I’ve never been 100% happy that I faves these a colour edit, and I’ve finally got around to doing something about it. When I first “discovered” this awesome wood-panelled elevator I had in mind to do an Ellen Von Unwerth hard flash light style shoot in it, and imho black & white fits the vibe so much better.
Flowers + + clingfilm = something rather special

A throwback to what I think was my second shoot with the fabulous. This was one of those shoots where when I saw the final raw images on my computer my heart sank as I had no idea what to do with them. None of my usual editing styles seemed at all appropriate, and so despite having sworn to myself that compositing in background textures was not for me I just had to try something different. Many, many hours later, hours which were occasionally filled with despair, tantrums and screams of “I quit!” I finally had something I was happy with. Of course, being the perfectionist that I am, I went back to them the next day and made more tweaks. And then when I finally sent them to Tegan she made a few more suggestions. I managed to quell another tantrum and made the revisions and I’m mighty glad I did as they were the final tweaks that the images deserved!
Throwback to an awesome afternoon spent shoot with the fabulous in Shoreditch and Brick Lane. Colin has been one of my biggest supporters, pretty much from Day 1, and meeting him had been high on my list for a good few years. And the fact I got to shoot a load of very cool images with him was the icing on the cake. How is he not on a modelling agency’s books????

I’m thinking we must be due a repeat session sometime soon 🤞🏻
From the time that the truly fabulous and I filled my bedroom with so much smoke from my new smoke machine, that when I opened the windows at the end of the shoot I was worried that the neighbours might fall for a fire engine 😂
“Tanned girl in the ring” featuring the truly fabulous, back in front if my camera after nine months working outside the UK.

We only shot two different setups on this day, despite me having a list of ideas I want to shoot with Sian. But I’ve learned from past mistakes not to try to cram too much into one day, and instead spend more time on less sets. So we started off outdoors, with an idea I really wasn’t sure would work, but we absolutely smashed it! And then indoors to shoot these images.

I bought the inflatable ring for another idea I want to do at some point, but then this concept came to me whilst I was struggling to sleep one night. So much of my work is about face and eyes, and I wanted to challenge myself by producing a whole set of images where the face and head don’t feature at all. And it also meant we could make the most of Sian’s tan lines before they fade (more of those on my special site soon 😉).
I often get asked what my favourite images are out of all the ones I have made. I’m sure most photographers get asked the same question - I’ve certainly seen many big name photographers pretty much cringe in interviews when it arises.

However, I’m part of the way through giving my website a much needed overhaul and I spotted these portraits of my fabulous friend, the truly amazing and as they have done many times in the past, they made me catch my breath just a little. Especially the first one in the reel. It might be my favourite of all the images that Gabby and I have made together.

There are more from this set, with Gabs being a little less formal with her facial expressions… I’ll post that reel another time. In the meantime, please go follow her new podcast account and head over to YouTube (or your podcast app of choice) as the first few episodes are out & they are fantastic! (I’d recommend the YouTube version as Gabby’s reactions are a delight to watch)

I’m also going to try to identify favourite images I’ve made with other models so watch this space.

It’s the fabulous ’s birthday today so what a great reason to post this set and add a touch more red to my grid, albeit not as bright as my usual red work. It seems that whenever we have shot together has managed to push my creative limits in one way or another, whether it was using coloured lights, fake blood for the first time, crazy angles with a pomegranate or shooting her with a snake in a tiny box room 😂
A model messaged me the other day & asked if I was still shooting with a red backdrop. So I was had a scroll down my grid and was actually left wondering where the f**k is the red? I love red! So many people say it’s one of the elements they love about my work, and that it’s pretty much a signature colour for me. Several models have told me I “own it” and everyone else is just borrowing it from me 😂

So here’s some red. Featuring the fabulous. Wilms is a dancer, not a model, but you’d never know that from the images we made a while back.
Is it my overactive imagination or does anyone else see a hint of a young Paul McCartney in some of these shots of?

It was a real privilege to be asked by Harry to work with him to create a range of images in readiness for the release of his new music. Harry was a joy to work with, and I’m hugely grateful to my fabulous friend for making the introductions (and joining us on the shoot as assistant, stylist and general entertainer). I’m hoping it’s not too long before I have Harry back in front of my camera lens.
Funny how some of my all time favourite black and white images sets are those where the model has been styled to have an androgynous look. This is a throwback set featuring the fabulous who absolutely smashed this vibe.

Maybe my sub-conscious is telling me I should be shooting more in this vibe. Or even with more male subjects? I’m certainly feeling drawn towards wanting to shoot a lot more portraiture atm. Any volunteers?
