There is always something special about seeing a project through this lens. The quiet details, the light, the pieces we spent months sourcing for our clients, and the little moments that make a home feel lived in.

It’s been a minute, or maybe months since I’ve given an update here. I’ve been so focused on creating beautiful outcomes for our clients. It’s a pinch-me moment to realize I went from obsessing about design on Apt34 for 15 years, to helping others create their dream homes. We’ll be shooting a lot of projects this year (we believe in slow, bespoke design, so what we do takes some time), but to see our clients love their spaces is the most rewarding thing ever. So here are a few sneak peeks. Btw, will take a select number of projects per year, so if you’d like to work with us, now’s the time to reach out!
This week marks a significant milestone: the start of our fourth year as Studio Trovato.

Only five years ago, the idea of this studio felt like a distant dream - something we never fully thought possible. Looking back at this collection of moments, materials, and light, we’re overwhelmed by the journey that has brought us here.

To our incredible clients and partners: thank you for trusting us with your visions. Traveling the world to source inspiration and pieces has allowed us to bring a truly unique, global perspective to every project we touch, and we are just getting started.

To celebrate this anniversary and kick off the new year, we are opening six complimentary 30-minutes consulting sessions in January. These are designed to provide clarity and direction for those ready to begin their own dream projects.

Thank you for being part of our story.

The Details:
• Availability: 6 sessions only.
• Booking: contact us via the link in our bio to secure your spot for January.
• Focus: Concept development, spatial flow, or material and finish curation.
Halls are decked, Santa’s workshop is in a frenzy and maybe I’ll get to go to sleep before 2am on Christmas Eve. Wish me luck! #thisoldvictoriansf #happychristmas #christmasdecor
This makeover may seem simple, but it still took months to complete and a whole lot of patience! It’s the thoughtful planning of the furnishings, lighting, and the custom artworks that truly makes the space feel elevated and intentional, while helping our clients feel confident and at ease in their home. Good design never happens overnight!
Thanksgiving is wonderful and all - I’ll forever obsess over a tablescape or finding that perfect side dish (sorry mashed potatoes, you ain’t it), and there’s certainly bounty to be grateful for, but it’s also the demarcator of what you have - and what you don’t. A marker of loss, the holes left unfilled, the perpetual separations; life’s messiness that the perfect tabletop will never mask. So to all who are feeling those aches just as much if not more than your craving for pumpkin pie, I see you. Be gentle with yourself, and with everyone really. We’re in this together. Happy Thanksgiving. 🍂 😌 #thanksgivingtable #tabletopdecor
I just had to pop back here to say thank you to all who’ve taken the time to make kind comments and send sweet messages about sunsetting Apartment 34. And I wanted to clarify that while the blog may be no more, I will continue to show up here! I was actually thinking I’d like to share a bit more, but I would love to know what you’d really like to see. Are you interested in bts action of projects? My own #thisoldvictoriansf design dilemmas (10yrs in they still exist!). Travel tips or favorite finds? Do let me know what content you like, because while I may no longer be looking to “influence” anyone, I will always love helping to bring a little inspiration to your daily life. ✨ #interiors #interiordesign #designblogger
Have you ever noticed how women often get asked in interviews “what would you go back and tell your younger self.” (Interestingly I don’t feel like I hear men get asked that question nearly as much). Having ticked another year on my calendar this weekend, I’ve been contemplating that question a lot.

I don’t think I’d tell her to do anything differently. Nor would I drop some wisdom from the future. Because life isn’t demaecarted by age, but by seasons. And those seasons ebb and flow rather unpredictably, each one arriving and departing with purpose. And it’s just our job to show up, experience, to try, to grow.

Earlier this fall I very quietly ended a major season of my life, shutting down Apartment 34 for good. For so long that little blog (and this space) felt like my entire identity, my self confidence conditioned on its notoriety or success. But that season’s time has now passed. But this isn’t a sad occasion. I see it as an opportunity.

And while I sometimes still find it odd to be in this new quieter, more private season, I’ve never felt more fulfilled designing homes and businesses as part of. This new season is bringing me the greatest challenges and joys of my ever-meandering career.

All this to say (in a very long winded way), to anyone still out there, be you young, old, or somewhere in between, just go out and enjoy the season. Whichever one you’re in. Because it will pass and another will arrive and each one can bring untold surprise, delight, growth, joy and challenge. So embrace your season. Squeeze the most out of it, before it too, is gone. Thanks for being here friends. I’ve always appreciated it and always will.
November’s arrival officially marks the heart of fall for me - and not just because it’s my birthday season. The light dips to that low soft angle, the leaves finally change (i am in CA after all), the mornings are crisp and the evenings turn dark and cozy. It’s also the perfect season to escape to wine country. A recent visit to the brand new in St. Helena was the perfect way to welcome Scorpio season. Definitely felt worthy of my first Reel in, well, forever. ♏️ #apt34travels #napa #winecountry #hoteldesign
I can hardly believe it’s been a year since and I spent the day photographing this special jewel box of a project we created for a client. It’s a great reminder that beautiful spaces can truly transform our mental health and sense of wellbeing. It’s why I love our work at. It feels very hard to show up in these online spaces these days, but at least I can create a little joy in the real world. (We’re also taking projects for 2026 right now should you need a little joy in your world). #interiordesign #modernclassic #sanfrancisco
