L'auto di serie viene equipaggiata con delle Michelin Primacy w, di buona qualità ma adatte solo all’uso quotidiano per via della mescola "green"che assicura comfort e risparmio di carburante. Questo pneumatico purtroppo entra facilmente in crisi nell’uso più intensivo, aumentando notevolmente il carattere sottosterzante della vettura. Le Michelin Pilot Sport 4 con tecnologia “Dynamic Response”(che prevede l’aggiunta nella mescola di aramide e nylon), migliorano notevolmente anche ad alta velocità la stabilità del veicolo e forniscono un elevato livello di trazione e handling su fondo asciutto e bagnato.

Può sembrare insolito ma io non amo particolarmente la categoria dei SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), soprattutto di ultima generazione per via delle dimensioni, costi, peso e tecnologie sempre più inutili e invasive che rendono l'esperienza di guida piatta, quasi impersonale. Senza contare che i Suv ad oggi stanno monopolizzando il mercato Automotive tenendo letteralmente in ostaggio per via dei profitti le case produttrici. Trovare un Suv dunque è molto semplice e qui viene presa in considerazione la X6 che sul mercato parte dalle 15.000€, per un esemplare del 2009 con un chilometraggio medio e certificato BMW. Per questa cifra si porta a casa un'ottima auto con linee pulite, aggressive e con un motore M57 V6 biturbo davvero eccezionale, potente e allo stesso tempo affidabile che assicura prestazioni di tutto rispetto considerando la stazza. Il cambio automatico ZF8HP anche se a singola frizione è davvero efficiente e regala il classico calcio nella cambiata, lo sterzo è molto diretto e comunicativo al contrario delle versioni successive dove l'elettronica interviene eccessivamente. Questo modello è adatto ad ogni esigenza soprattuto ai lunghi viaggi grazie a degli interni molto confortevoli e un bagagliaio generoso, i consumi si attestano intorno agli 8,3l/100km. Nell'uso"off road"la X6 riesce ad affrontare percorsi di lieve o media difficoltà, non certo impegnativi mentre in condizioni di neve con l'ausilio di gomme termiche si comporta egregiamente grazie alla trazione integrale xdrive. Per quanto riguarda le problematiche tecniche ed eventuali difetti, questo modello non desta problemi ricorrenti ed è piuttosto affidabile, ciò che vi consiglio è di controllare le ricevute della manutenzione per verificare i cambi olio e relativi interventi. Controllare lo stato della pompa alta pressione e delle turbine per scongiurare consumi d'olio, e se ciò non è stato fatto sostituire l'olio e filtro del cambio automatico che andrebbe eseguito ogni 80.000km,
