La Formule 1 a toujours fait rêver. Chaque génération de monoplaces a sa magie et ses légendes, mais certaines époques résonnent en nous d'une manière particulière, celles qu'on a découvertes enfant, devant la télévision.
Avec Formula One, je rends hommage à ces monoplaces qui ont marqué mon imaginaire. Ces lignes tranchantes, ces moteurs qui hurlaient, cette vitesse qui me fascinait.
C'est tout l'enjeu de mon travail autour de la vitesse cinétique: figer dans l'acier un mouvement qui ne s'arrête jamais. Vue de côté, la sculpture se dissout entre les lames. En tournant autour, elle se recompose, s'anime, accélère.

After Gunmetal Symphony, my Porsche 911 installed in Cannes in 2024, I'm happy to return with a piece that holds a special place in my work. The 250 GTO is one of the most iconic silhouettes in automotive history, a car that embodies both elegance and speed.
In its monumental version, treated in Streamline, it unfolds differently. Seen from the front, it dissolves between the red-lacquered steel blades. Walk around it, and it recomposes, comes alive, reveals its full power. Movement is born from the viewer's gaze.
Seeing this piece settle on the Croisette, in the light of the festival, is a rare dialogue between cinema, architecture and sculpture. Three languages of movement gathered in the same place.

Alors que le rayonne sur la ville de Cannes, ma sculpture monumentale GTO Streamline prend place sur la Croisette, devant la boutique Bottega Veneta.
Après Gunmetal Symphony, ma Porsche 911 installée à Cannes en 2024, je suis heureux de retrouver la ville avec une pièce qui occupe une place particulière dans mon travail. La 250 GTO, c'est l'une des silhouettes les plus iconiques de l'histoire automobile, une voiture qui incarne à elle seule l'élégance et la vitesse.
En version monumentale, traitée en Streamline, elle se déploie autrement. Vue de face, elle se dissout entre les lames d'acier laqué rouge. En tournant autour, elle se recompose, s'anime, prend toute sa puissance. Le mouvement naît du regard du spectateur.
Voir cette pièce s'installer sur la Croisette, dans la lumière du festival, c'est un dialogue rare entre cinéma, architecture et sculpture. Trois langages du mouvement réunis au même endroit.

A monumental Ferrari 250 GTO, born from steel.
Some sculptures you look at. Others, you walk into.
Working at this scale changes everything.
The plates are heavier, the cuts longer, the margin for error smaller. Each strata must hold its place, suspended, until the welding binds them into a single silhouette.
Then the 250 GTO emerges. Not a replica. A presence. Light passes through where metal isn't, and the void becomes part of the form.
This is what monumental work offers, a sculpture that no longer fits in the gaze, but in the space around the viewer.

Certaines sculptures se regardent. D'autres, on y entre.
Travailler à cette échelle change tout. Les plaques sont plus lourdes, les découpes plus longues, la marge d'erreur plus mince. Chaque strate doit tenir sa place, suspendue, jusqu'à ce que la soudure les unisse en une seule silhouette.
Puis la 250 GTO émerge. Pas une réplique. Une présence. La lumière traverse là où le métal n'est plus, et le vide devient partie de la forme.
C'est ce qu'offre le monumental, une sculpture qui ne tient plus dans le regard, mais dans l'espace autour du spectateur.
