この作品ができるまで10年ほどの年月がかかりました。
一方で、SNSへの私の認知の甘さと見せ方の問題もあり、多様に模倣され、写ルンです放置そのものが「エモい写真が撮れる装置」「バズる装置」という「正しさ」へと収束していく様を見て責任を感じています。
“正しさ”や“評価”や“消費”から写真を解放するために始めた行動が、結局ビジネスや集客という意味への帰結によって、またひとつの消費物として回収されていく。
それは、この作品が壊したかった「正しさ」の別名だったのかもしれません。
ただ、私はこれからも写ルンですを放置し続けます。

当時は自分の心の中に廃墟があるような、廃墟にいることが落ち着くような学生時代だった。特に神戸にあるとある廃ホテルが一番の落ち着く場所で週1で通った時もあった。
いつしか写真と共に僕の意識も外に向かうようになっていたが気がつくと誰よりも早くとか誰よりもいい写真をと言うような思考に陥っていた。
そんな自分に嫌気がさして、また自分の感情とか主観(悲しそうなイメージとか暗いイメージとか、今思うと甚だ可笑しい)みたいなのを一方的に廃墟に投影している様な気がして、最後に一番行きたかった某廃墟に足を運んでそれから廃墟に行くのを辞めた。
大学生になると今までモヤモヤしていた写真との向き合い方に決着をつけようと、なぜ僕は写真を撮るのかという事を卒論の裏テーマとして考えた。
そこで中平卓馬、土門拳、荒木経惟、森山大道、鬼海弘雄等々の写真家に触れてなんとか写真を辞めずに今に至る。
構図が取れていればいい写真なのか、美しい女性が写っていればいい写真か、ピントが合っていてブレていなければいい写真か。答えは全て否であると僕は思う。世界は世界のままにあり、そこに写真家が介在して一枚の写真が撮影される。世界は決して写真家の意識の投影として存在しているのではない。そしてその独りよがりな表現の為に写真はあるのではない。いい写真とはなんだと言われたら未だに上手く答えられないが、世界に対して誠実であること、そして世界と写真家の二者の関係と存在が記録された写真がいい写真ではないかと思う
写真に写っているのは前に住んでいた街にあった桜である。この桜は土地の整備の為に翌年伐採され今ではもうない。写真に出来ることは今も昔も変わらない。
