In the span of a few moments he watched his kids grow up through videos. And he had only been gone such a short amount of time in space.
In the real world, this can feel so real and relatable.
There are moments where time feels like it’s dragging. But then the next thing you know, it’s been 10 years and you wonder where has the time gone. What happened to all the in between moments. The memories. How does my kid look almost grown when it wasn’t that long ago they were just waving goodbye to go into their first day of kindergarten. Now they are a year out from graduation.
My other kid, is doing make up, picking out her own outfits, doing her own hair. About to try out again for the top team in her soccer league. And just yesterday it seems, she took her first steps.
As a parent, it’s our duty to make sure we make time for our kids. We create opportunities for them to have experiences. That way when they reflect back on time, they can smile. They can cry. They can feel nostalgic about something. They can say they lived, and they lived well.
I chose to be a photographer for several reasons. One of them being able to do something that seems impossible. Stop time. Forever preserving snip it’s of it. It’s why photographs are so special. Because those moments are gone and now will only be a memory.
I chose this song because every tick you hear, represents 24 hours passed on earth. A song from the movie Interstellar. It represents the relatively of time.
Get in front the camera. Let your insecurities fade away. Make memories. Capture them. Preserve these moments. Don’t wish you had taken more photos when your kids were younger. Do it now.

Yes. The moon is alone.
Her light is not her own.
She is not always visible in the night sky.
She travels the same path every month alone.

You see, the moon was never alone.
We only had to change our perspective to see more.
Sometimes when we are sad we may feel alone. But we never truly are. There is always light even in the darkest of nights. There is always hope. And when our path feels sad, alone and mundane, if we look up, we can see just how many people surround us changing the path into something beautiful.
