As a Toronto and Vaughan family photographer, in-home sessions are my favorite because they take the pressure off. We trade stiff poses for jumping on the bed, and āsay cheeseā for genuine belly laughs.
Here are 3 tips to prepare for an in-home session with a toddler:
1. Let go of perfection: The best photos happen when kids are allowed to be kids. If they want to run circles around the kitchen island or hide under the covers, let them! Iām there to capture the energy and the connection, not just a perfect smile.
2. Plan an activity: Whether itās reading a favorite book, playing with the family dog (swipe to see the cutest pup!), or making coffee togetherāhaving something to do takes the focus off the camera and keeps toddlers happy.
3. Keep it comfortable: Crank up the heat so itās cozy, have snacks ready (hangry toddlers are real!), and keep outfits simple and comfortable for playing.
