What made the experience even more special was the setting: flower-filled interiors, natural light pouring through the windows and the intimate atmosphere that Capella does so beautifully. 🌸✨
And perhaps the biggest surprise? Sharing this Michelin experience with our little foodie and discovering that fine dining can be wonderfully family-friendly too. 👶🏼🤍

Our days were filled with cookie baking classes, afternoon tea with a view, unlimited ice cream and lollipops 🍭, and the kindest, most attentive service we’ve ever experienced.
Waking up to the beautiful Hangzhou skyline and ending the day with these little moments together made this stay feel truly special.
And the breakfast at? Easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve experienced - beautiful cuts of fresh salmon sashimi, healthy vegetarian options, delicious chia puddings, barista-made oat milk lattes, and of course the famous local Longjing tea, the taste of Hangzhou itself. 🍵

Shanghai is one of those places worth traveling for - truly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to.
Located in the heart of Shanghai, with beautiful views of the Bund and surrounding greenery, this isn’t just lunch it’s a full gastronomic experience where Italian tradition meets modern precision.
We experienced a multi-course tasting menu by Executive Chef and every dish felt like a moment. What made it even more special was how some of the courses were finished right in front of us adding that theatrical, intimate touch that makes the whole experience feel alive.
And the desserts… truly unforgettable. Not just in taste, but in presentation - refined, creative, and almost too beautiful to touch.
What I loved most was how effortlessly everything flowed. The service felt refined yet deeply personal - more like being cared for by family than formal hospitality. Warm, intuitive, and quietly luxurious throughout.
That sense of family is at the heart of it all from the Cerea brothers, Chicco and Bobo, leading the kitchen together, to the values passed down by Bruna Cerea, which continue to shape the spirit of Da Vittorio.
And then came the surprise at the end…
Out of nowhere, a full “wardrobe” of chocolate-covered nuts was rolled out, with an incredible selection to choose from. Each one more tempting than the last - including delicate creations with a subtle yuzu twist that added this fresh, unexpected brightness.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, if you want to experience Italian fine dining at its most elevated, right in Shanghai.
