I know it was disheartening for him, but he never showed that and kept being my subject, my model, my actor whenever and whatever I needed him to be.
Today, he's not just a mere subject I need to give perspective to a picture, someone that could have been anyone. He has gone ahead to build an identity, an image of his own. This show, Meteor Shower that we made together, is about him being the subject. There is still the landscape, still so often I blurred him out as the foreground, but no matter how much i try, I just can't make him look small anymore.
He was invisible in my shots early on, so I could get the visibility and today, nothing pleasures me more than to be invisible and make a show that features him while I fade into the background.
