Many of the wonders are on my own bucket list but I havenāt had a chance to visit (Iāve only been to the Colosseum in Rome) so this experience gave me the chance to find out the history of the wonders, interact with exhibitions (such as build our own pyramids and touch the Hanging Gardensā¦. ) I learnt some fascinating facts, for example did you know that the hanging gardens of Babylon might not have actually existed, thereās no architectural evidence!
The highlight for me was the VR experience, you genuinely feel like youāre inside the wonders (be warned itās so realistic it even sparked my fear of heights!) and finally we stepped inside a 360 video featuring all the wonders)

- high in the Salzburg mountains, Moargut is one of the best family hotels in Austria! The hotel itself is based on a farm with an amazing swimming pool, a 1000 metre square kids club (child care is all inclusive!) and ski school plus separate baby care, outdoor playgrounds. For parents, thereās a gourmet five course tasting menu (buffet for kids), an adults only spa and 80km of ski slope.
- we loved this hotel in the Italian Dolomites. Thereās a brilliant ski school adjacent to the hotel and the most amazing kids club for all ages including babies (again all inclusive). Children are encouraged to get closer to nature by exploring the snow playground, visiting the farm, riding ponies, petting alpacas and ice skating with a view of the mountains!
- located in Leogang! Another brilliant kids club with a focus on both educating and entertaining children. Thereās a petting zoo and forest playground with a climbing wall. Thereās even reindeer! Like the other hotels the pool is a highlight for kids and thereās an adultās only spa, and a family spa too.
- Located in Solden is the perfect place for winter adventures for the whole family offering kids ski lessons and child-friendly restaurants - Ice Q which featured in James Bond Spectre is a highlight!
- beautifully designed nature-led family hotel in South Tyrol focused on wellness, creativity, and outdoor play.

I looked back at my 2016 photos and realised it was a huge year for my blog and for personal travel. The now 40+ mum of two that I am feel tired just looking at all the places that I travelled to. I started blogging in 2014 and I peaked in 2016 (it went downhill from there š¤£) but Iām happy to say that 10 years later (LOOL) I really feel like Iām peaking again. Looking back at the old photos I realise that now 10 years later, Iām healthier and feel better about myself.

We have absolutely fallen in love with our ski trips to The Dolomites and quite honestly, this area is the perfect place to visit with children. And hereās why!
Skiing - When we first decided to take Oscar skiing we were a bit overwhelmed as the major ski resorts were so expensive but when we discovered the Dolomites we were immediately excited. As well as being super family-friendly, itās cheaper and the slopes are quieter - perfect for first time skiers.
Kinderhotels- these are special hotels designed with families and children in mind. We find them very convenient and great value for money as they offer all inclusive family service such as full board dining, child care, childrenās activities and the provision of baby gear etc. The rooms are spacious and often have two distinct areas for sleeping which is a major requirement for us. I recommended and for family stays
Beautiful nature - The landscape in this region is absolutely stunning and the Kinderhotels weāve stayed at have nature at the heart of them, on working farms, fringed with mountains with the cleanest air and purest water. The mountains glow pink and gold at sunrise and sunset.
Great food - The kinderhotels that Iāve stayed at work on a similar āmountain cuisineā concept using local ingredients. An extensive fresh and healthy buffet for children and a tasting menu for children. The places weāve stayed blend classic Italian dishes with Tyrolean cuisine. So dumplings, speck, alpine cheeses, and hearty soups are served along with pasta, risotto and great wine!
Safe calm, clean happy family time - thereās nothing quite like it. The Dolomites feel so calm, quiet, fresh and pure... itās really a place to get away from it all!

Even worse than late nights are split nights. There have been a few times Noah has been awake for three or even four hours during the night - a situation thatās really hard to manage. I find the toddler sleep sack in the video helps him sleep as itās so cosy and the brands partnership with the lullaby trust is really reassuring.

The tube is the easier way to travel and under 11s are free. Check for step free access if you have a buggy there will be a disabled sign on the stops where access is step free.
You donāt need a ticket or Oyster card just tap with a debit card or Apple Pay..
Buy tickets in advance / make reservations itās a busy place!
Tour buses are great but you see a lot from a normal bus (the 9, 11 and 24 take you around classic landmarks).
London is pretty safe but watch your phone! Thereās a phone snatching epidemic in London so donāt get your phone out in busy places.
If you can visit attractions mid week or early in the morning. The really popular places are very busy so try not to go at peak times.
Have a plan, donāt try to do too much in one day. Choose a major area eg South Bank, Greenwich, Covent Garden and explore that for the day.
You can also use Thames boats to get around London. The Uber boats are very easy to use.
Weather is changeable. Plan ahead.

They have more bones than adults ā Born with about 270 bones (compared to 206 in adults), some of these bones fuse together as they grow.
They can breathe and swallow at the same time ā For the first few months, babies have a higher larynx position which allows this rare ability.
They donāt shed tears at first ā Newborns can cry, but their tear ducts arenāt fully developed until about 2ā3 weeks, so no visible tears initially.
They have a strong grasp reflex ā If you place a finger in their palm, theyāll instinctively grasp it tightlyāsometimes strong enough to support their own weight!
Their sense of smell is powerful ā Newborns can identify their mother by scent alone within the first week of life.
They sleep a lotābut not for long stretches ā Newborns sleep up to 16ā17 hours a day, but only in short bursts due to their tiny stomachs needing frequent feeds.
They are born with a natural swimming reflex ā Known as the ādiving reflex,ā babies can instinctively hold their breath and make swimming motions underwater.
Their vision is blurry, but they love faces ā They can only focus 8ā12 inches away, the perfect distance to see a caregiverās face during feeding.
They mimic facial expressions early on ā Even within the first few days, babies can imitate certain expressions like sticking out their tongue.

1. Soho Farmhouse - my all time favourite hotel, part of the Soho House Group. We loved taking Oscar here when he was little. Thereās a fantastic pool, a kids club, ponies to ride, bicycles, lots of farm animals to see and best of all your child can enjoy an escape to the countryside - perfect for my city boy!
2. - Iāll always remember this hotel for my encounter with Paul Maccartney who witnessed Oscar vomit all over me after our car journey! This hotel includes fun activities for all the family and a Sharkey and George Kids club. There an indoor and an outdoor pool, woodland walks, family cinema screenings and complimentary bike hire.
3. - Located in Ascot, Coworth Park is the most beautiful country house hotel and itās perfect for kids. Thereās a kids club, pony riding and activities such as segway and archery. We visited in Easter once and thereās were chocolate eggs in every room and Easter activities around the hotel!
4. Babington House - also in the Soho House group, gorgeous Babington has some of the most amazing child-friendly bunk rooms Iāve ever seen with toys in the room for the kids! Our boys loved the swimming pool and doing crafts at the kids club and generally running around in the beautiful open space.
5. - A hotel in a safari park? What could be better for kids. Visitng Port Lympne gave our children the chance to go on safari in without leaving the country. We got to stay in a gorgeous treehouse, visit the dinosaur park and playground and get up close with the animals. The restaurants are also brilliant and all have childrenās menus.
(FYI to book Soho Farmhouse and Babington House you must be a member or a Soho Friends member)

We bought far too many things when Oscar was a newborn (think four playmats / three bouncers etc!) so with Noah I really distilled it to my top necessities and brands. As a breastfeeding mumma, honestly all I really need for a baby is clothes, nappies and a safe place to sleep! But these are some things that make the newborn journey slightly easier!
Car seat - we have a Cloud Z which has the benefit of being able move into the lie flat position. Our car seat is the one we bought for Oscar, be careful with carseats and donāt buy second hand.
- Does what it says really this pillow works well as a place to ādockā your newborn.
Next to Me Cot pod ā A small cot for the next to the bed, you can take the side down for easy access to your baby. The fitted sheets are also from Snuz
Zippy sleep suits - so easy and time saving to put on especially in the middle of the night. is my favourite brand.
Pram Baby Zen YoYo - You have to choose the right pram for you and living in central London, the light weight compact Yoyo works for us. Itās also a very flexible travel pram.
Bouncer - Noah loves his bouncer and itās the perfect place for him to relax and play while Iām making dinner or doing things for Oscar.
Play mat a great way to introduce playtime to a very small baby.
Sleep sacks / swaddles - White Noise humming bear - We found swaddling Noah and playing white noise really helped him sleep. Arms in for newborn.
Other useful things baby monitor (we have )
Breast pump (I donāt really use but on the very rare occasion I like the )
Steriliser - we have the baby UV steriliser
Muslins - are nice!
Baby bath - we have an Care
Baby carrier - I know some people swear by them but I donāt really get on with them. We do have the though. Baby bjorn is also good.
