Horace Walpole’s ‘little gothic castle’ is gorgeously moody and romantic - perfect for a winter wander.
The castle is always lovely to visit but I think it suits the festive season so well. Walpole coined the term ‘gloomth’ to describe his ideal decorative atmosphere - a combination of gloomy and warmth.
I guess it never really caught on though, ‘Have yourself a gloomth little Christmas’ isn’t quite as catchy is it?
