In this journey of motherhood, the baby became my full time obsession, a muse that moved me in ways I never imagined possible. And through it all, one feeling stayed with me and slowly became the subject of this painting: midnight blues. The image of my sister, with tired and sleep deprived eyes, gently taking off her shirt to feed her baby whenever needed, remains deeply etched in my heart. Moods changed, bodies changed, equations changed, even my sketches changed, and seasons passed, but my sisterās love remained unwavering.
Motherhood teaches you the purest form of selflessness. And maybe that is why our mothers always say, āWhen you become a mother, you will understand why.ā
This painting is dedicated to all the strong mothers who raise wonderful children with all their heart, mind, body, and soul.

If youāve had the privilege of visiting my studio, youād know how deeply Iām drawn to masks and big eyes.
If given the freedom to wear nothing but a mask, I would create a million of them, each one a life, a language, a quiet rebellion.
I carry entire constellations of moods within me, shifting, contradicting, dissolving. But when I wear a mask, I am no longer at their mercy, I become the author. In that moment, I step into a skin of my own making, deliberate and chosen.
They say we shed our skin every day.
I donāt shed, I construct.
With every mask, I build a new surface, a new truth, a new self. Not to hide, but to reveal in fragments. Not to disappear, but to multiply.

I hosted an art session at Radisson Collection Srinagar, where we played with collage, tearing, cutting, burning, pasting, letting stories unfold in the most unexpected ways. Everyone brought a piece of themselves into their work, and somehow the room just felt alive with emotion and curiosity. Even the bright sun couldnāt steal that magic.
The team brought my vision to life so effortlessly, from the flowers to the tiniest details on the table. I also made little postcards and coasters for everyone to carry a piece of the day back home.
Itās moments like these that stay with you. So full, so warm. Hoping for many more like this, with the right people, at the right time āØ

Growing up, my cousin sisters and I played endless rounds of saree saree and teacher teacher. I remember how excited I was to grow up just so I could wear sarees more often. Even today, if I gift a saree to someone, it means they truly mean something to me. Over the years I have gifted many to my artist teachers, relatives, and dear friends who have come into my life.
This year I started making papier mĆ¢chĆ© masks for myself. The first time I wore one, it felt strange and liberating at the same time, as if I had stepped into the skin of someone else. Behind the mask, I could quietly meet my alter ego. If you look closely at the photographs, my eyes are always closed and my smile is as wide as the maskās eyes, almost as if the mask is doing the seeing while I simply feel the moment.
There is something comforting about wrapping yourself in something that carries memory. A cotton saree does that for me. It slows time a little and reminds me of verandahs, afternoon light, and the soft rustle of starched fabric. Wearing it feels like stepping into a small pocket of the past while still standing gently in the present.
These photographs were taken in the kind of spaces I grew up loving, among trees, open skies, and the sound of birds. Places where swings hung from branches and afternoons stretched endlessly. Standing there today in a saree and a mask, I felt like I was meeting the child I once was.
