1. Senso-ji temple in the wee hours of day one. The jet lag was strong in this trip, but it gave us a lot of crowd free hours to explore
2. Kyoto after dark - this is probably one of the top 5 photos I’ve ever captured. A beautiful sunset plus the Gion districts lights were the perfect combination
3. Another one from Senso-ji temple. An ode to and I contemplating switching religions once every day
4. Craft cola - Saw this on instagram and it didn’t make the cut in our itinerary. But chanced upon it during one of our dinners and ofc we took it as a sign 😬
5. THE HEAT - As someone who lived their entire lives in Chennai I did not take the heat warnings seriously. But boy was I wrong. We could not step outside without a hand fan or an umbrella. But was very cool to see all the smart inventions Japan had to deal with it
6. Kamakura - The Enoden line. This train ride was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. It went through narrow lanes, beaches and was too too cute
7. My blood ran green for this trip. This was my favourite matcha place from everywhere I tried
8. Team Labs Planet - Deserves all the hype it gets
9. 7/11 runs - This is ofc a given. We always say our favourite thing to do is go snack shopping together, and going here every night was like going treasure hunting
10. Shinkansen day - another day we spent being amazed by Japan’s tech. 450 kms in 2 hours, whaaaat?
11. To remember the 20k steps we walked everyday
12. Mount Fuji - Book either the left or right side (I don’t remember which 🤔) to enjoy the view right from the train. We spent some 5 minutes admiring the wrong mountain, but finally spotted it
13. We discovered on this day that too much tempura could be a thing 🍤
14. Uji - Overdosed on matcha, explored temples and museums and socialized with some senior cuties
15. Fushimi Inari Shrine - Heat 1, Me 0. Went back to the hotel and napped for 4 hours after this
16. Last day - it rained when we went to Nara I pretended we were in a Disney movie
17. Ate too much 🥰
18. 2 seconds before this guy chased us for 🍪s
19. Memories (and multiple Uniqlo bags) were brought back home

I have a ton of insecurities thanks to years of listening to people call me skinny, chicken legged and what not. I mean I get it, it’s nobody’s fault. All of us at some point have pointed out physical observations about other people even though unnecessary because of how normalised it is. And most of the times I get that it comes from a place of concern coz people often think skinny means unhealthy. But it’s also true that those words shape the way we see ourselves and can lead to a lot of body-image issues. In my case, I can say that it has affected my confidence and to a large extent has sort of conditioned me to dress in a certain way. I avoid showing too much leg cause time and again people have reminded me that they are too skinny. I wish I could end this by saying oh this is the story of how I broke out of those constraints and got more confident, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten there yet. I think it’s going to be a long time before I can confidently wear dresses and show of my chicken ankles, but hey this is to officially announce to the world that I’ve started to try. And that maybe you should too. 😋 Oh, oh alsoo incase you are still one of those people who can’t curb their urge to make unnecessary comments over another person’s appearance, please stop and do BETTER. 🙂

Kept the last outfit of this series as cliche as possible. Went with a black turtle neck, grey plaid pants with a thin belt, matching bag and footwear to complete this look.
