Unlike the frenzy of red carpets and fashion weeks—enough chaos to rival a circus—the GRWM shoot is the calm before the storm.
You step into a luxurious hotel suite, introduce yourself to the glam squad and quietly, almost invisibly, set up your gear.
All the while, you’re carefully reading the room, picking up on every subtle vibe.
These shoots are an intimate affair, usually starring a tight-knit team of makeup artists, hairstylists, and nail technicians l, who are practically the celebrity’s glam family. They’ve got the rapport, the routine, the unspoken language—and your task is to slide into this polished little circle without stepping on anyone’s perfectly pedicured toes.
Time has a funny way of sneaking up on you, and before you know it, the serene beauty routine is swapped for a flurry of “Oh my god, we’re running late!” Suddenly, your adrenaline kicks in. Lily’s slipping into her gown, and it’s finally your moment to shine!
While trying not to add to the pressure, I swoop in (gracefully, of course), subtly guide her to the perfect spot where the light is flattering, the clutter minimal, and the magic can happen.
Lily, ever the sweetheart, flashes me a radiant, charming smile, and just like that—she’s on camera. A few more portraits, a couple of last-minute touch-ups, and, of course, the obligatory selfie with her glam squad. Then we’re off, racing down to the lift into the lobby. At last, I have room to capture her in that ethereal white Givenchy gown flowing effortlessly.
She gives me a hug 🥰, vanishes into the waiting car, and just like that, she’s gone.
