Amara by Neya was launched in 2023 by A. Neya Nidhi, a graduate from the Fashion Design Department at NIFT Chennai. Deeply inspired by the intricate beauty of handblock printing, Neya founded the brand out of a personal desire to honour this traditional art form and its artisans.
At the core of Amara’s creative process is the art of handblock printing, which plays a central role in the brand’s identity. Every fabric is developed and printed from scratch by skilled artisans and designers, ensuring that each garment carries with it the essence of traditional techniques.
Amara follows a made-to-order model, aligning with principles of sustainability and minimal waste. Fabrics are produced in small batches, and restocking is done occasionally, which keeps the collections exclusive while avoiding overproduction.
Looking ahead, Neya is excited to expand into new categories, especially a handblock printed saree line—a dream she’s been nurturing since the brand’s inception.
